Yup. Elizabeth N is evil. That's right. E-VIL!

The problem is, this OP will NOT reply to any of the commonsense replies and questions she has gotten and this good advice will be wasted, like pearls before swine. And the good people like Elizabeth who have spent a lot of time posting here to help her will be just a little less helpful to the next trainwreck who comes to town.

I suspect this person is a troll, anyway. She knows NOTHING about her son's care, health and will not answer any specific questions.

WOW!
Who are you to judge what I reply to and dont? I am a working mother with 3 children. I am trying my hardest to get on this forum when possible. So let me get rejected by some of you because I dont respond back to the many many comments and questions? Thank you to the people with understanding! I am reading your comments when I can and taking in EVERYTHING you all say that can lead me into helping my son on the right track.

You have to help us help you.  We need to know who his surgeon was, how he supplements, what he eats.  We want to help but without that information there's not much we can do.

I have to get ready for work now. I am going to see my son this afternoon and I will talk to him about jumping back on this forum. I do know that he is a member Eric Roberts is his name. Dr Eric Schleslinger did his surgery. We live in Phoenix AZ. I do know that his INR is being tested weekly thru the MAYO and also are his vitamin levels.(unsure of those results from the last time he has went) which are also being checked by Mayo. The Mayo gastric does have him on prescription vitamins. I will get the bottles when I can to update this forum. I do know that each time he has it checked potassium is low. Every time in the hospital he had to get a potassuim IV. Look I am very ignorant at what this ALL takes to be successful. I tried my best to get to every appointment and meeting with him to try to understand how this should all work out. Be back when the time is available in my day.

Well, THERE's your answer. Dr. S's name is mud around here. Get your son to a REAL DS surgeon.

If you had said that in your FIRST post, all of this could have been avoided. For God's sake!!!!

Oh crap, he's a Schlesinger victim :-(. Okay, lots more just became clear.

We STILL need the information we've been asking you for before we can be of ANY help to you. I realize this is a lot of information and might take some time for you to assemble. But if you will get it to us, we CAN help.

"Prescription" vitamins might or might not be useful. That tells us precisely nothing.

Would your son be willing to come on here and post this information? Since you're short on time, that would be helpful.

Another idea might be for you to print out a couple of the posts here, such as the first one I wrote to you, give it/them to him and have him write out the answers. Then you can post them.

Is your son also having trouble with blood pressure?  My husband was recently diagnosed with a condition that makes the potassium low and the blood pressure high.  He was started on a prescription medication that seems to be helping.

Red, I'd be curious to hear more! I have low potassium and am on HP meds - not real high, but still . . . .

It is called hyperaldosteronism.  I think it is related to the adrenal glands.  It was disagnosed by his endocrinologist.  The definitive test was a blood test, that I think looked at his renin levels.  He is taking a lot of potassium and Inspra and it seems to be stabilizing.  Prior to his DS his blood pressure was out of sight and he was on several different medications to get it managed.  This showed up when he was down to just taking one medication for his blood pressure

Who am I to judge? My name is Nicolle and I have been a member of this forum for YEARS. If I reach a hand out for help from people from this board, I actually take it. You should consider doing that. We all have jobs, kids, elders we care for, etc. But we make the time to help people who actually WANT help. You're not the only busy one here, you know.

I have see you post a lot of crap here on this thread and dodge every question and offer of assistance.

You are so goddam busy that you cannot resopnd to people on this thread, YET you will respond to MY post? You've got plenty of time for THAT? Listen to the people on this thread who are trying to help you! Answer their questions, dammit. If you are so worried about your (probably imaginary) son, answer these questions:

--who is your son's surgeon? (I have my guesses)
--what vitamins is he taking?
--how much protein is he eating?
--what, specifically, are his lab values?

Better yet, get HIM on this forum. People here can help him. If he is real and you do not do any of the above, you are not just helping him, you are helping him kill himself slowly.
