Help-my body seems to be giving off a "smell"

You know what occurs to me is the supplementation.   I don't know if this is the case,  but if it smells metallic, that could be it.   I don't know what to do about it, specifically.   It seems like if you don't smell like poop, body odor of mouth rot, they should just SHUT UP and leave you alone.

I agree with everybody about keeping the mouth moist, and all that.   It also reminded me that there was a post in some Yahoo group or other from some guy a couple of years ago - maybe more - who had a similar problem.   People asked him what the upshot of it was and he said it turned out to be garlic.   He just had a really unusual reaction to even a little bit of garlic, and it made him smell unpleasant.

I don't know if I'd be willing to give up garlic, if it were me.   I know I did when I was a nurse, give up garlic and onions, etc., the nights before I worked.   Kind of out of respect for sick people, you know.   But if you're just working in a normal office and you have ruled out all the above smells, it seems to me that the coworkers are just being overly complainy.

Thanks for the post. I was wondering if it isn't vitamins/minerals I am taking that are not absorbing right and seeping out of my pores. I don't know, at this point I am grabing at straws.  I would definitly be willing to give up whatever it is that is causing this, how embarassing.  I would like to think they are being overly complainy but several of them keep going to my adminstrator about the smell.  How embarrassed I am!

As a diabetic, I've always heard that weird sweet body smells, especially breath, are due to ketosis. I'd give upping the water considerably a serious try. Can't hurt, might help, as it did Becky. And good for you to boot.

Has anyone else told you this outside of work?  Do you  think it's possible people are just being spiteful for whatever reason & making it up?  If it's really that strong & that apparent, then I would think other people in your life would notice it too.  I'm sorry, I have no suggestions for you if it's actually true.

Thanks for your reply.  Yes, my sister has told me the same thing so I am afraid it is true.  Now I just have to figure it out.

Are YOU able to smell this smell?  If not, eliminations of foods would be impossible for YOU to tell if the odor was eliminated and totally embarrassing to have to pass a sniff test every time you changed something.

geez, what a miserable situation. I really feel badly for you.

I remember a man on this forum posted a while back and he had a body odor issue after DS.  It turned out he couldn't eat garlic or onions without emitting a weird smell.  I don't know if this is your problem but an elimination might be worth trying.

I had a roommate in college that worked in an italian restaurant... the rotten garlic smell literally seeped from his pores. I would try the omelets without anything else but eggs for a few days and see how that goes.

Thanks for the post. I am going to try that and see how it goes.  Thanks, Lori
