Venofer Infusion (with pics)

Hey Dana! You've had 6 over how long a period of time?

 Actually, I've had 7 over a two month period. Once a week. Monday will be my 8th and then I get bloodwork on friday to see where I stand. I feel a 'little' difference, but nothing major.

What's Venofer?  Is like an iron infusion?

I had five infusions early on because I was walking around bottomed out in iron pre-op and didn't know it (I had my first two in the 17 hours I was in the hospital post-op).

And I must say the bag of Venofer is creeeepy in appearance. It's so weird that it's SOOOOO black, like pitch.

When was your last infusion? What are you taking to maintain your levels now?

 Mooooonths ago God I don't even remember, I'd have to look. Like probably June-ish. 

I'm taking www.vitalady.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi Which is the iron supplement my surgeon prescribed. 6 months, just fine. We'll see how the yearly labs work out.

Thing was, I was low in B12 and iron and I was four months post-partum when I had surgery. Srikanth was even shocked asked me about menstrual cycle and whether it was heavy or I'd ever had problems with it. And then I was like...noooo but I WAS just pregnant! Like SUPER RECENTLY. And he was all...BET THAT IS IT! 

Whoa, surgery 4 mos after your kiddo was born? You, ma'am are made of stronger stuff than I. I do wish that I had had surgery when my kiddo was a lot younger. At 4, she remembers so much of my surgery, being out of town, and recovery. And this kid is such a worrier! I know it will fade...

I'm taking poly iron, tender iron (capsules w/c), and bifera (just started). I feel like I'm leaving another iron out, but can't think of it at the moment.
