How appropriate you showed up on this thread, as you were one of the most vocal and out there when I first lurked at OH, and were so sweet and concerned when I exchanged some info with you. You're such a *****
I chose the DS surgery before ever encountering Diana or Larra, but as a post-op patient, I've gained a lot of information from both women. I've asked Diana a couple questions in private and have had thorough, patient replies. I appreciate her wealth of knowledge and her willingness to take time to answer questions from strangers on a message board.
This board has essentially served as my post-op support group and I've learned from many others here. I suppose I have become more vocal in the past months, but prior to that, I "lurked" for a long time, watching the boards and noting the progress (or lack of progress) of people here -- and learned.
My sincere hanks to all of you!

ME! I met Diana first on duodenalswitch.com, where I posted a thread asking how to get my husband, a scientist, to support my decision to have WLS in general and the DS in particular. Diana sent me - a perfect stranger - her phone number and offered as both a PhD scientist and a Lawyer to talk to my husband and address any of his concerns.
I've seen her volunteer her time and expertise for years and continue to be grateful for her kindness.

Thanks to everyone who has posted thus far- and thank you all too for keeping it positive and honest! I hope DianaCox, Larra, and all the people mentioned in these posts get to see for themselves their efforts have not been in vain- look at all the lives that have been blessed and changed!! THANK YOU ALL AGAIN for all of the fabulous responses!
When I first came to the DS board to ask questions I was very impressed with Diana's posts. It was her obviously educated and precise explanation of the DS and its benefits that encouraged me to move forward with the DS.

Diana was actually band from OH during my initial visits, so Tammy Bishop got me to the DS forum, and LeaAnn convinced my I COULD succeed without my 'modified' surgery and no restriction. But Diana and Larra have both offered information to newbies and new post-ops that I file away in my head and have pulled out on numerous occassions. If I don't remember the specifics, I still always know where to look to refresh what I don't quite remember!

you ladies ROCK! Thanks for all you do for ALL the people on OH - you pay it forward to many people - not just DSers, I've seen it time and again! I know your heart is with DSers but seeing you help someone that needs it regardless of their surgery type is amazing!
