Mexican food ? What are some good items?

I love steak fajitas.  The refried beans make me too stinky!  I will indulge in some nachos, but usually load them up with sour cream, taco meat, salsa, guacamole (hold the jalapenos).  I used to love shrimp, but as I've gotten older, I've developed a terrible shellfish allergy (boo!).  Enjoy yourself, focus on your ,meats and seafoods, if you have room, veggies and save the rice for last.

Just avoid the flour tortillas and you'll be fine! Every menu is different, so just ask if you're not sure whether they use flour or corn for a menu item. I always eat the insides first and maybe take a few bites of the corn tortilla shell. Mexican is a DS'ers paradise...all that meat, cheese, sour cream and guacamole! It's making my mouth water just thinking about it.

Carnitas are good, asada is good.....I tolerate corn tortillas very well, and I'm maintenance, so I eat tamales, enchiladas and corn chips with salsa all the time!

Sounds like they may have been talking about the chain Moe's Southwest Grill ?   They have meat and beans choices but also have tofu.  And they make it however you want it.

I hope you have a good time at dinner!  :-)

Our local place has a dish called Parillada -- which is shrimp, chicken, pork, beef, and chorizo grilled with onions, peppers and tomato.  A side dish comes with refried beans, sour cream and guac.  Of course they offer flour tortillas but I give mine to my husband.

HMMM, sounds good about now!

I order the chicken tostada, no lettuce, extra cheese. I only eat the toppings, not the tortilla. It's like $2.49 ala carte. I am SUCH a cheap date now.
