OMG!  In all seriousness, that's abuse!  My younger sister had a tabby who was 22 pounds and was so fat he couldn't get into the litter box.  Her vet ripped her a new one and made her put Tabby on a diet and exercise program.  The poor thing had arthritis so bad in his hips and was in heart failure.  He only lost about 3 pounds and had to be put down because he could no longer walk and his kidneys were in failure.  She was devastated.  Now her kitties have a "home gym" set up in the basement and are only fed 2x a day.  After meal time, she puts the food away (so they can't knosh all day long) and watches their quantities.  She also is more careful with table scraps.  Her "fit" kitties are much more active and affectionate, which is a pain when she comes home from second shift at midnight and they want to "play"!!!  But all in all, they are a happier bunch and god willing will be around more years than poor Tabby who was only 7 when he died!

poor baby!!!!!!  I want to help him!

When my ex died I took his animals to find homes for them.  He had a cat that weighed almost 25 lbs!!  It was heavier than my thanksgiving turkey and felt like I was carrying one!   When he got here though, he was so scared he hid under the bed for like a month and lost at least 5 lbs or more.   You could tell he felt better.  By the time I he left he was down to probably 18 lbs, give or take.  Still a big cat.

That is sad.   Cats can't very well lose weight because it gives them fatty liver disease.   Opposite from us, where losing weight cures it.   So that poor cat doesn't really stand a chance to live a normal cat-life.   Imagine, a cat who lives his/her whole life on the floor.
