You're right Ahrie; Barb is a caretaker, big time, always has been. I'll talk to her some more about this and let her know what she can do to help. And yes, we have been through far worse than this.

Edit PS: I love your name Ahrie, one of my grand daughters is named Arden and everyone calls her Arie, she's a real character and cute as can be, here's a link to her family blog:

Oh Kerry,

Your not alone, but I lecture myself!! I want to exercise and everyday I plan on doing so when I get home from work. However, once I walk in the door and my son starts his stuff and I gotta help with homework, fix dinner..... you get the point. Plus it's so cold outside, to cold to go walking in the park (I live across the street) what's a girl to do? I need to kick myself in the butt and get moving. Thanks for this post.

Be Blessed

Yeah Deirdre, there's just no getting around it is there. I don't even have the it's cold outside excuse; I mean it's cold here, but it barely freezes here and usually gets to 50-60 during the day.

I need a double jointed knee so I can kick myself in the butt!

I have had the same issues myself until the last couple weeks.  I just know that I am not going to do anything once I get home so I take workout clothes to work with me and stop on the way home - there is a Gold's Gym in my path between work and home and it's only $10 a month.  A year ago I thought of exercise as pure torture, but now I actually like it.  Once I started hitting the treadmill I found that I have more energy and I can really tell if I go 2 days in a row without exercising.   If you make a decision and really commit yourself to it you will find that you have the 45 minutes a day that you didn't think you had.

Good Luck!!

Yeah, I agree it takes a real commitment, but once you do it you feel better nad have more energy. Heck, I even have my own treadmill at home, I just need to set aside a time to do it.

I have seen so many of your posts regarding your struggle.Have you had your thyroid checked out? I have heard of people having thyroid problems after surgery even i they did not have it pre-op.

It's been a few years since I was tested for thyroid, but because I'm a downwinder, I was tested every year since I was 10 or 12 until I turned 50 and there was never a problem.

I'm scheduled to have blood drawn for labs next week, but I don't know if thyroid is something they look at. But I know that testostirone is on the list!
