I lost about the same amount of hair as you, plus, now its growing out and I have a weird 1 inch growth throughout my hair...

Oh I like it. It's cut like mine...'cept I've still got those big 1980s bangs. I've also gone a little 70s retro and started to "feather" the side of mine even. I think you'll like it in the long run too...not much fuss.
