So,
for those who are Post Op and keep track of your carbs...
Would you mind listing whatever numbers you have from the below list:

Carb Gram Count Daily
Protein Gram Count Daily
Fat Gram Count Daily
Average Weight Loss per Month
Months Post Op

I am just trying to get some number crunching done for myself...
Having a hard time knowing where I should be eating right now.
I definately have levelled up on what I "can" eat...stomach space wise..
But, need some guidance from the experience and success of our fellow DSer's!

HELP!
Thank you so much...Natasha

Edited to ADD: Just the Average numbers for each of the above questions, is good. Thanks!

Hi Natasha,

At first, I was religious about carbs and protein (and I didn't care about fat).  My avg daily was right on the mark:  50g carb (including half-n-half, veggies, ketchup, whatever).  100g protein.  Probably about 90g fat.

I lost 59 pounds in the first six weeks.  Keep in mind, though, that I started at 420.

I've upped my carbs to about 100g a day (again, counting EVERYTHING) with my protein staying around 100-120 and fats around 100.

As of today (4.3 months), I've lost 102 pounds.

I think alot depends on your beginning weight, in terms of how much you'll lose.  I see alot of folks who keep their carbs very low (50g/day) lose weight faster, or so it would seem.

Best of luck!

OMG -- I couldn't begin to tell you at any time during my post op life these numbers.  Are you really tracking these?  All I ever counted was protein grams my first year, then kept mindful of simple carbs.   Honestly, Natasha -- it doesn't have to be this hard.

or you could read the daily food 'n fitness thread and get some ideas on how different people at various stages are eating.

I do track my protein carbs and fat.....but the one I mostly keep a close eye on is carbs...I know I get my protein in....so I can't tell you without research the exact numbers but I do know my carbs range between 50-75...some days more - some days less....

I don't track my fat intake though I do know I could stand to up it some

I'm with Val though, it doesn't have to be hard....use SparkPeople <----link
it's how I keep up with everything

I use fit day and it isn't hard to track the carbs, etc.

It is just that on this forum, there are those who insist on Low Carb for Weight loss and high fat and high Protein.
Well, what is their definition of said advise and what was their average weight loss monthly?

I post on the Food and fitness thread daily...but, not very many people do...

I thank everyone who has provided me with informaiton and advise.
If anyone else wants to post their numbers, I would love it...

On average...
I am at 80 carbs per day. Sometime High, sometimes low.
My Protein is 120 grams per day...sometimes less but never less than 100.
My Fat seems to be around 60 grams daily...not sure if that is Low or high from what people recommend.

I have lost about 105 lbs to date.

I just don't want to slow down. I had a 8 lbs month and the rest have been 15 lbs or more per month. But, now that my stomach fits more....Just making sure I got it covered.

I really find it odd, the multiple personality diet recommends of the D.S.
We rip some people a new one when they mention eating carbs..
but, at the same time we tell people to count protein and fats only?
I don't know the details of either recommend.
So, I figured it is easier to analyze how fast people lost based on what they chose to eat and make my determination from there.
Of course, even in that, everyone is different with how the carbs affect them.

I am LOST from the advice. I like to analyze the numbers vs. the success. :)

Natasha, I'm way way pre-op, but your mind works just like mine!   Here's hoping you get some clarity soon, and that it's not so hard after all.

I use the Daily Plate.  That's how I learned that my diet is current 75% carbs, which lead me right back to OH and planning to get a DS because that is a hot mess.

Thanks Sweetie!
Wishing you fast surgery date and good recovery!
It is a wonderful surgery, once recovery has occurred!
Noticed you asked if there were any regrets to the surgery, I say, NONE!
