What is a "normal" amount to eat at 3-4 months out?
That sounds good and realistic - but you might be surprised! Kilaani (Jill) and I know a couple of other gals on this site got down to some very nice BMI's and they started out at a higher BMI. If you get the chance, check out Kilaani's blog - she's amazing!

Being a revision from a restrictive surgery, I was eating much more than presurgery by this time. I just hit the protein first, as everyone says and did try to watch my carbs, keeping them at 100 or below.
But yes, I seemed to be eating all the time, which was a delicious idea. It seemed the more protein I ate, and the more water I drank, the more weight I lost. If I didn't get enough in, my body would hold on to the weight.
2 years later, I still eat a lot. I have my "I'm so hungry I could eat an elephant" days and my "I have to eat my protein if nothing else days", just like everyone one else.
Just keep a food journal to make sure you are accurate on your protein and liquids. It really makes a difference.

Eating every two or three hours is a GOOD thing! Just eat what you can hold, but make sure it's mostly protein. I didn't have restriction done with my DS (long story), so my capacity is the same as it was pre-op . . . the DS will work without dependance on low volume, as long as the volume is the 'right' stuff. More often than not, I think people's weight loss is slow because they don't eat ENOUGH . . . . so eat and keep that metabolism stoked!
