I am weird..... I craved the insides of a soft taco, no lettuce. Just meat and cheese. I wanted it soooo bad. Since I was not on liquid but softs, my MIL bought me one. It was the best thing ever!! Whenever I could not eat cause I was queasy, I had taco bell... to this day it's still my favorite.

I would honestly have different kinds of water. I became very water picky afterwards. I prefer spring water to distilled or purified water. You could also see if you know anyone who does the single servings of sugar free things you mix in water and bum a few of different flavors. I am still not a big flavored water person. I drink my vitamin water (has quite a few carbs though, so it's a treat).

I ate mac & cheese- I craved that. I had some lunch meat, lots of slices of cheese- still love to get a slice and eat it... Eggs were a daily thing. Some days good... others not so good. OH, quesadillas... those were goood and easy.

I am lucky white flour does not bother me. So I could do mac & cheese and flour tortilla's... I do not bloat or get nasty gas.

I agree... Lori's blog is the best on her early foods.

mmmmm, Taco Bell.

Eggs seem to be a pretty common staple. After having to make and taste omlettes (French style--which means runny and undercooked) in chef school, I have not eaten as many eggs as I used to. Although, I am sure eggs and I will be fast friends here pretty soon.

Thank you so much for all the great  tips!

The easiest drink for me as a brand new post op was diluted apple juice. It tasted so good and made it very easy to get my fluids in. I only used it for a few weeks (sugar content) but it really saved me.

You know it is funny that you say that because when I was a little girl whenever I was sick I craved ice cold apple juice. I have never been a big juice person except during those times.

Thanks for the advice Bev!

What foods/liquids would you suggest for me to have in my kitchen for my return home?

Thanks Val!

Do you know if we can use cornstarch as a thickener without "problems"?

Individual results vary -- but I've had little to no problems with even a flour roux as a thickener.  I vote to give it a try.
