OT: How do you pronounce "Duodenal"?

Do you say: 1) DU-o-DEE-nul or 2) du-ODD-en-ul ? I've heard it pronounced both ways and believe both ways are correct. Just curious about which way you say it. I say it both ways, but use #2 more often.

LOL. I'd been saying #1 and my mom of all people (who's never heard of the surgery) corrected me and said it's #2. So I guess she's right.

I always pronounced it like 2. But then one day I overheard my surgeon's assistant say it like number 1. (And I was kinda embarrassed cuz I thought I'd been pronouncing it wrong.) So now I try to pronounce it like 1. But sometimes I accidentally still say it like 2. I would feel a lot better if I knew #2 was correct as well.

According to that, both ways are ok. I LOVE that site. It's great for swear words. Try this one: http://m-w.com/dictionary/**** I bet our LeaAnn uses the second pronunciation. Maybe Preacherman, too.

LOL! Yup! And I'm so glad that both ways are correct. I'm gonna go back to the way I used to pronounce it. I liked that way better.

Thanks for checking it out, Dreamy! I'm so excited that I can go back to saying Du-ODD-enal. That other way is like fingers on a chalkboard to me, but since that's how the surgeon said it I suppressed my natural impulses.

I don't know. I have a BAD southern accent and I say it like #1. Number 2 just sounds so weird to me. Well have to see how LeaAnn and Preacherman say it. Now I'm curious.
