An OH Petition for DIana Cox

Please count me in as someone who valued Diana's contributions to the weight loss surgery community and also to this site.  I am absolutely dismayed that she is no longer allowed here. When I was young I thought that everybody had to agree with me or they were "bad people".  Now, as an adult, I accept and sometimes actually treasure differences.  Some of my very good friends and I have major differences in opinion on MANY issues.  My new favorite saying--"We agree to disagree".

Count me in!  Diana is a wonderful woman with a plethora of information!  If she wishes to come back, I would love to see it be allowed.

When I was pre-op and had a legal question, Diana emailed me and gave me some great advice. I truly hope that OH will reinstate her membership and allow her to continue helping so many people. Please add my name to the list.

I just SAW this!  Thank you for doing it!  SIGN ME UP!!!!  I WANT my name on this list for sure!  Had it not been for Dianna, I would be in a VERY miserable spot right now...With having a surgery that is WWwWAAAAAAAYYYYYY BELOW standards by an inhumane person whom I refer to as Frankenheap.  Scarey thinking what would have happened had Dianna not happened.  PLEASE, SOMEONE bring her back! ~Darcy Thompson

Hello ... Anyone home at OH???  It seems odd that the moderators who oh so LOVE to moderate haven't said a word after 3 days and 3 pages of posts on this topic. Could it be that they are EMBARRASED that they have banned our much beloved Princess Diana?  Moderators, did you think we would we would forget about her? Diana's wisdom and humor has helped many of us keep our chin up as we settled into the trenches to battle with our insurance companies.  Her insight and advice has been invaluable to countless others, whom she has tirelessly assisted without any compensation except for the satisfaction of  "Paying It Forward".  Since her banning, I've really lost faith in OH.  It is no different than "cutting off your nose to spite your face". Moderators, Not that you care about what the members here on this board want, but I agree that in the spirit of Thanksgiving, that she be allowed to return.   Amy, as I've told you before, yes, this is none of my business, since it is between you and Diana, but ... the good that Diana has done has so far outweighed any negatives, so I too I am "signing" the petition to let her return. We've been waiting patiently for 3 days ... Your silence tells us that you really don't care ... Laurie

Hey Laurie,  This is a just a  peaceful demonstration of our desire to see Diana returned to us......hopefully we will get a response.  I'm sure that the moderators and/or the powers that be are extremely busy with their families, and will respond shortly.   I do have to say the moderators do care, but this is a very sensitve matter.  Normally, OH staff will not comment on a specific memember in a public forum, for a variety of reasons.  But I am hoping that in the spirit of UNITY and for the benefit of OH and the WLS community at large that the powers that be will allow Diana back.   TO THE MODERATORS Amy we do love you, and appreicate your dedication to this forum, esp. all of the work you've done in the recent past to update the DS information that was presented on OH, and for updating the OH DS surgeons list.  I speak for myself, I am thankful for this forum, and for the wonderful people I've met on it, and for the vast amounts of information and learning I've recieved.   My intentions on this thread is just to bring back someone, who could help future WLS patients, be it RNY, VSG, Lap band, or DS through her knowledge and experience. We know your busy with your family.....but if we could get a decision soon it would be much appreicated.   Amy and Tooter have a great holiday with your families, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!  Scott

I'd also like to sign this petition.  Diana is an asset where ever she parks her bike.  She's one super smart cookie.

Scott & All, We've been sent this thread and we are aware of it.  This was a committee decision for Diana to not return.  This was not completely decided by me, although I do back the choice.  We do have other staff and other considerations that went into this decision.   The situation went beyond what has been exposed and I'm not in a position to openly discuss all the details here.  I can say at this point in time this was a choice made for now, I'm not saying it's not something that can't change in the future.   It has never been an issue that Diana has not given information that is helpful to others, it's not an issue that she's not helped others with insurance, etc.  We are certainly not disputing that.  I do want to address one important note. This is NOT a personal issue between Diana and myself as rumors seem to keep floating around to this extent.  I just happen to be the one pin pointed because I'm the one who addresses this openly as I can and have always done so.   So, yes to some they believe this is completely my choice. This is my job to address things as I work with Obesityhelp and I do want to be upfront about things with our members.  The situation could have likely been completely avoided if things had been let to die down, the situation exculated well beyond just a thread being posted or pulled. I'm sorry people are hurt over this.  We will look into this in the future, but this point in time there is nothing to salvage what has happened.    I do wish Diana the very best and I hope she does continue to help others.   If anyone want to discuss this further they can email their concerns to [email protected]  We are limited to what we can say and talk about with any third party person.  This is a policy we have here at Obesityhelp to not discuss these matters with anyone other than the person directly.  Diana knows why she was removed and it's up to her as to what she completely wants to expose to people who know her.  I appreciate the spirit in which you wrote this thread and appreciate how many of you have wrote how you felt, both here and in private emails.  We do welcome other opinions. We try very hard to not have to moderate. We get accused of doing a lot of moderation.  The site has terms of service for a reason and with life there are laws, rules to follow.  We just simply want people to try to be civil.  That's all moderation is about, keeping the peace.   It's a struggle for us to have to remove anything here and do so very limitedly.  I won't be replying further on this situation on the boards. I'll be off with my family for Thanksgiving, but as always my email is open [email protected]  if anyone wants to contact me privately. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Very sincerely,

  I've lost over 400 pounds!
I love helping others, if you have a question just ask!

Thank you, Amy, for taking the time to share your careful and thoughtful response.

I trust you had a delightful Thanksgiving as did I. Good eats here all they around. I'm the chef so I'm required to state that, and with all the lip smacking around the table, I'm under the considerable illusion that it might actually be so.

At the risk of seeming overly burdensome, I wondered if I might not ask a personal favor on this matter? I would consider it a great kindness if you would allow me to write each of the sitting membership committee members an e-mail requesting Diana's reinstatement, provisional or otherwise, by sending me privately their email addresses. I can assure you such a "single" communiqué would be both brief and polite. I'm sure you would be only too happy to pass along my sentiments yourself, but It would have so much more meaning for me if I could be allowed to do this personally with each of the others. I'm under no illusion that such a communiqué from me will have any affect one way or the other, but I will at least have the satisfaction of going the extra mile at having tried personally with each involved in the decision process.

Please, no hurry here in getting back with me, and thank you in advance for your consideration.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend.

Most sincerely,

Rock
