I am having the same problems other than the fact that mine will bottom out about an hour or two later. I've been looking at the reactive hypoglycemia websites and it's sort of like that. There's also noninsulinoma pancreatogenous hypoglycemia syndrome (niphs) which is definitely more in my symptom range. You might want to do some research into that and bring it up with your dr. I have an appt this week to discuss this. It's really putting a damper on trying to have a normal every day life! Good luck to you! Hope you feel better!
I have not been officially diagnosed with this problem, but it sounds exactly like what I'm going through. It seems like my bloodsugar spikes to 200-300 after I eat, then drops into the 30's or 40's about an hour or two later. If I take any glucose tabs or try to eat to get it up, it spikes again. I've passed out, gotten the shakes, seizures, headaches, confusion, etc. No matter what I eat, it is always the same...Feel like giving up eating alltogether, but know that I can't. I am at my wits end! I'm not even allowed to drive anymore. It's sucking...
The good news for me is that I'm allowed veggies during Opti...even with a tad of olive oil...so, I can eat soups and salads!!! I'm no longer fearing the 2 weeks pre-op, actually looking forward to it since I've been really having a long and extended food funeral. (I know, I know.....but I had to do it!!!)
The even better good news is that throughout this process and the 7 months of researching wls, I realized that some people with non obese bmi actually go through with wls surgery to relieve their diabetes. My husband has had diabetes for a few years and is really miserable with it. We never thought that there was a thing he could do about it but now....wow, he may actually be able to cure it!!! I CANNOT believe that this is not discussed more often as a course of action. People don't even know this is possibe!!!

Anyhoo....now I only need to "keep calm and carry on"

Looking forward to hear other people's story on this!
Does anyone on here have type 1 and be willing to share with me, and her, how you are doing it? Or does anyone know if it is even possible?
Thanks, Carol
Check with your endo and surgeon but one thing, if you are still on meds...call them today.

Have a great Monday!
