Topic: Insulin Resitance help available...
With your doctor's permission, may I recommend the book, The Metabolism Miracle, by Diane Kress.  It is an updated version of an old way of eating, with all the mysteries explained.  There is a website with the same name, detailing the program.  In less than 3 days I have been able to take half of my nightly dose of Lantus and completely stopped Novalog. ( I had RNY 9 months ago) I still take Metformin for PCOS, but that might decrease also.  It is a program used in phases to rest the pancreas and liver of overproduction and never ending cycles of Insulin release and Glycogen release, (known as Insulin Resitance) a vicious cycle that will keep us overweight forever.  This is a condition not often recognised and not resolved with tried and true weight loss programs.
This is just a suggestion, I am a nurse, I don't take anything on face value...I have researched IR and PCOS for years, and I am just trying to make sure that I live longer and healthier.  My daughter has IR and PCOS and I want her future without the struggles I've had.
Thank you for letting me speak...

Hi,

I found this site diabetes-research.net that deals with diabetes. Their intensive diabetes research helps individual to know more about diabetes and shows some tips/ways on how to prevent and minimize the effects of diabetes and most of all they provide diabetes menu plans to help manage diabetes for those who suffer the illness.

Hope that helps in some way.

Mine levels rose right before surgery to an outrageous 200 in the morning  78 at 3 p.m.  it was crazy before that they were around 107.    Now 8 weeks out my levels have dropped to about 110 range.  I was really hoping the RNY surgery would cure my diabetes (because that is the outcome for a lot of people) and maybe it will as I lose more weight.

Topic: RE: Has anyone ever had Cortisone Shot?
I have had cortisone injections in both knee's and having another one on Wednesday.  They do spike but I think it is from the pain.  BSL will go down.

I had Lap RNY and my Type 2 diabetes is completely gone, so the RNY can also reverse it.

Are you hydrating enough?  That will help -

remember BG levels fluctuate. Are you testing at home?

are you on medication for diabetes? would think you'd need insulin at that level  There is a correction formula - its different for everyone ASK about it.  You may need insulin for the short term. - but I'm not a doctor.

I'm type 1 and it usually takes 4 to 6 hours for me to come down from being that high.  Hope your able to get there - you def don't want to be that high for surgery - for it can climb higher
