Since I grew up in a family of diabetics, feel free to PM me anytime if you have questions. Diabetes can be controlled and life does not stop with diabetes as it once did a century ago. If you are on Metformin, then you are mildly diabetic and it may never progress beyond that. Today's options for diabetics is far better than when I was a kid or even just ten years ago. My father lived with being insulin dependent for over 40 years. That was in the pre Humalin days when swine insulin was used, before electronic testing monitors. Today's drugs, human based insulin and electronics, (including the insulin pump) make controlling the disease much easier. Hugs

Robin,
Since both my father and his parents were diabetic I am sure that mine will one day return. I live in just a bit of fear of this, but my father lived a normal life with the disorder as did his sisters and brother. Best wishes.

Oh as a side note I happen to be at the Beaumont Weight Center waiting for my older sister at the Lymphodema clinic right now as I am typing this.

Its terrible!  you would think after losing 150lbs I would be healthy, now....I have Type 2 Diabetes and I am pissed.

I guess, I have to the Metformin and see what happens.

Thanks for your input

Mine went away after my RNY. Guess there is more to diabetes than meets the eye. I, like you, waited to have Dr. Krause do mine.
