I've always read that fruit juices are a no but it is always best to check with your doctor or dietician. Most fruit juices contain the sugar of several fruits and none of the fiber that you would get from eating the fruit itself. If anything, I would think it could raise your blood sugar. The sugar content of most juice is the same or worse than soda/pop.

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
A friend of mine has been diagnosed with type 2. She suffer from chronic neck and back pain due to diabetes. I recently read an article which says that apart from botox just used to improve the look of your skin, botox injections can help reduce the neck and back pain(http://www.med-aesthetics.com/blog/botox-treatemnt/treating-migraines-hyperhidrosis-and-pain-with-botox/ ) and it can bring a quick and long-lasting solution when other remedies prove to be ineffective. Has anyone here taken the botox therapeutic treatment? Will it be safe to undergo such a procedure with diabetes?
My doctor says that anything all natural is good for my body and blood sugar. My favorite drink is pineapple juice.
Does this have an effect on diabetes
I was diabetic, with an A1C of 9 when I went in for my RNY. I was taking 100mg Glucophage twice a day, and Lantus at night. The MORNING after my surgery, my fasting was 96. I have never looked back. The highest fasting I have gotten was 116. I am not taking ANY meds for my diabetes. I was told that the gold standard for controlled diabetes was RNY, so I went that route. I too was 216 when I started and 213 the day of surgery. I am about 2 months out and have lost 32 pounds. Go for it!
How are things going for you since your last post here. You really have inspired me about do RNY since our stats are/were so similar.
That's so good to hear lking. those are the results that I hope to achieve. Since I was told that someone else here weighed the same as I do now and went for RNY, I'm having second thoughts again about the sleeve...UGH! so frustrating.
I WAS a diabeti****il 12/4/15, the day I had my RNY. My diabetes, HBP, and GERD were all resolved (gone) as soon as I was off the surgery table, and I was immediately taken off all meds for those conditions.

67 yrs old, 4'10", BMI 31.8 (51.8 at start), HW 256.4 (8/4/15), SW 217.4, CW 152.8 (4/30/18), GW 125.0, RNY 12/4/15 Dr. RoseMarie Jones, Breast Cancer DX 2/16, Bi-lateral mastectomy 8/9/16.
I had the RNY on 12/21/2015. The biggest motivation for me was the possibility of getting off my medications. My DR. took me off the metformin and Bydureon prior to surgery and I have had no issues since. It is like my body never remembered it used to have it. I feel amazing. I have my life back. The only regret if you can even call it that is that I did not have it done sooner!
I hear you Nanny13, 12/21 is a good date b/c it's my birthday..LOL. Thanks for the inspiration I need it.

I have read an article which says about a miraculous fruit called Noni. Upon drinking a glass of Noni Juice every day, a diabetic patients can control and cure their Type 2 diabetes. Read this article and please comment your views if the claim is genuine or if it is just a marketing strategy.
