I don't think it ever goes away I'm 3 years out and I still have neuropathy in my left foot. I take 150mg of lyrica twice a day and it does help.

I am 3 years out I loss 106 lbs. In the last few months I have not loss a lb. I gained 1 lb in 6 weeks. I went to the doc 4 months ago my A1c was 6.8. The time before it was 6.1. This time my A1C is 8.3. My thyroid numbers have tripled in the last 4 months. I'm so depressed. I worked so hard to get this weight off and now I feel like I'm going to gain it all back. Has this happened to anyone else.

Topic: RE: Just off Insulin, advice please.
Paul, I use to be on insulin, my blood sugar was at 637. Now 100 lbs later, Im on metformin twice a day, at 6.1. Your doing great but are you suppose to be on carbohydrates? It seems it shoots your sugar way up. I may be wrong. I have them once in awhile but not too often. I'm free from surgery 10 years plus. I've only gained back 20lbs but I'm about to get a revision because my neuropathy is bad from the diabetes. I want to be diabetes free when this is over. I use to weight 270lbs lost 100 and gained back approximately 20. But I'm stil 65 lbs overweight.

Wow, good for you. I can hardly wait until my next A1C to see what mine are. Like you said, it wont be stressful to see what the results are gonna be with our new way of life.

I just bought EAS whey protein, vanilla, and it is pretty good.  I found it at Sam's Club, $27.99 for 76 servings.  They had chocolate as well.

My diabetes has come back as well.  They took me off insulin while still in the hospital and I felt great for almost 3 weeks.  Now it has come back with a vegeance.  I am weak and get dizzy when I stand up.  My sugar keeps going over 200 with the little amount I eat.  Even my fasting sugar in the am.  I am so disappointed!

Isn't it nice to not feel bad about test results for a change?  Congrats to you!

Topic: RE: SUGAR LEVELS UP AFTER 1 YR BYPASS SURGERY
I am 9 years post op, I lost 120 lbs but after 1 1/2 years my blood sugars began to rise and I am on oral meds for diabetes.  I'm not diet compliant.  Have only regained about 15 lbs but could lose another 50-60 lbs to be considered at a realistic goal.  I use to need insulin before WLS.  I am afraid I will end up on it, oral meds aren't doing it for me now.  I am trying to improve my diet and do some exercise.  It's not easy, WLS helped but unfortunately I was not able to keep up the things I should have done.  I can eat pretty much anything and in large amounts.  No I will not consider a revision, because this is about me and my bad habits.
