One Month Post Op

I have not had the drastic success that many have had with their diabetes after WLS however I have had a major improvement. Prior to surgery I was taking 15mg of Actos and 1000mg of Metformin along with 120U of Insulin Daily. Since surgery I am down to just 35U of Insulin and hopefully that will also decrease with further weight loss

I never expected a miracle. I have been a type II since 1987. But this is a great start

congratulations on your WLS and it sounds like your meds will catch up to the weight loss in a little more time as you continue to lose. Continued success...... Wendy

Ronna, I have been Type II for about the same amount of time. I have had similar experience as you. I had my surgery in mid Dec. am now on 15 U of Lantus and 30mg of Actos. As long as I keep my carbs down I do fine with that. Here's hoping that we both make it off our medications completely in the foreseeable future. (That was a big reason I did this surgery)
