heather, i know i am late, but i just read this. when they test you, yeah, you should of been fasting, you may have to re-do the test. they just draw blood, like any other time. they run the test & it will give them a reading for the past 3 months. so, there is no "cheating" to get your sugars down, at the last minute, it is...."busted"!!! lol! if you need any more help, holler at me & i will help you with what i know! bonnie

is 155 but suppose to be 30. That could be the amount of sugar in your urine. If you had to pee in a cup and they tested it for excess sugar. You should have been fasting for an accurate blood glucose test unless the dr wanted to see what your level was after you eat. You need to ask the dr questions to see what all of tis really means and to be sure of things.

Sometimes they will do a post meal test for diabeties.... this is at 2 hours after you eat a normal meal and tells what your body does /reacts on it's own.... this often relapces the Glucose drink use for the dreaded GGT! Fasting BGL are good for telling what levels you are at before meals. Fasting levels I think should now be under 100 and after meals not over 140. Anything under 60 is considered to be a low BGL ( hypoglycimac) but I am HYPO at 80 and below. If your MD thinks you are still a diabetic ask him/her to order a simple FASTING HACI Hemaglobin Ac1 this measures the BGL over the past 6 months and should be under 6.0
