Since this whole thing is fairly new including the diabetes diagnosis. Can anyone tell me how they control Glucose when my sugar crashes after surgery??? I have this nightmare image of his happening with no recourse in sight. Anyone know?

You sugars will likely drop to normal levels and remain there. You can eat some protein snacks to raise it. For new diabetics type 2 the fix or cure rate is 95% according to my surgeon, even for those on insulin.

In the beginning (first 6 wks) I used glucose tablets, yogurt or a little milk to raise my sugar during lows. Your meds will probably be dramatically reduced after surgery though, so it probably won't be an issue until your on solid foods more regularly. Good luck, Wendy Type 1 275/175/145
