I am type II and am about 75lbs overweight. I am waiting for approval for the surgery. I am not on insulin yet but the doctor gave me the choice to go on insulin or have this surgery. Please tell me how you are doing at this time. I need some hope to hang on to. Thanks! Suzy

Dear Suzy, I think it has helped me tremendously. I have lost 62 of the 87 I need to loose. I am off all diabetic meds. My last a1c test came back in the normal range. My last sugar test was 102 back in march. I haven't even bothered to take it since then. I feel like a new person and this surgery has been a godsend for me. I wish you the best. Love, Diane

Hi Melissa, I wish you well. I had rny surgery and mine has worked well. I had it in Jan. with 87 to loose and I am down 62. I have heard the last 20-25 to loose is the hardest and I have found that is true. I am no longer on any diabetic meds and feel wonderful. Keep the faith. It will happen for you. Love and best wishes for your surgery, Diane
