I had Rny done about three years ago. Had orginially lost close to 100 pounds. In the last six months my sugars have gone up to about 350 all day. So now I'm requiring more insulin. Which is why I have gained 15 pounds in 6 months. Have not changed how I eat or the amount of exercise. Its been the same. Also have been on shots and have struggled for 16 years. Considering a pump, should I pump or use continue injections? Please help!

Also was wondering if the pump would help with weight loss. I still have about 30 to 40 I can't seem to get off.  Seems like its harder to control my sugar with shots.

I was placed on insulin but only took it two nights b/c of how it was making me feel (sort of racy). I go back tomorrow to try something else

I'm T2, so I can't really contribute anything useful to the questions that you asked, but I wanted to ask a question. Before my surgery, my doc had me on a couple of different types of insulin that weren't supposed to contribute (as much) to weight gain; Levemir, Victoza, Bydureon etc. Can T1s not take these? If not, they should really work on something similar for you guys.

Good luck! I hope you find a way to balance sugar levels and your weight.

I have had type 1 since I was 3.  I am now 40.  I had RNY  3.5 years ago.  I started the pump 2 years ago.  My A1C is lower and I feel better.  Weight has not changed.  U love the pump.  I went with the omnipod as it is tubeless.  Message me if you have any questions.
