Good morning -- I got my sleeve exactly 4 weeks ago.  At the time I was taking 2000 mg of Metformin and 10 mcg of Byetta 2x/day.  My doctor had me stop all diabetes meds the day after surgery.  I've been checking my blood sugars a couple times a day since then and they have continued go down, down, down.

This morning I got up and checked my sugar and it was 89!!!  Do you know the last time I had a morning b/s of 89 without medication?  The twelfth of never, that's when!  Perhaps when I was a kid but it sure hasn't been my reality for at least the last 10 years.

Don't let anyone tell you that the VSG doesn't help with Type II diabetes.  It does!
