since my surgery ive had a hard time swallowing... well at my first post op the doc found out i had 2cc of air in my band... now its almost been a week since then and im still having issue.. right now my blood sugar is 40 and i am trying to sip on juice to get it back but its like a 50 50 shot if i can swallow.. this really blows!!!!  as soon as my doc office opens im calling .. i just needed to vent lol thanks guys for listening!

Are you still taking any meds for your diabetes? If so, and you're seeing those lows, obviously your meds might need to be adjusted.

Im a type 1 diabetic.. ill always be on insulin until theres a cure of course.. but yah i went to the doc again yesterday and he took out another 3ccs of air... i feel better much better today now that i can keep food down

I'm type1 as well - i highly recommend milk (if your no lactose in tolerant) brings up the sugars, and a little protein for lasting power. If I'm really low I'll add carnation instant breakfast - and do about half of that and see if the sugars go up. And I'll save the other half to add protein powder to it with ice and what have you. In real emergencies I have done the glucose drinks. Was freaked that I might get sick on it, but I did not. THough I am an RNY patient so different rules follow. Good luck though.
