Just wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with insulin resistance and taking glucophage prior to surgery? If so, after the surgery how well have things been going for you in regards to weight loss? Are you no longer in need of the glucophage?

Thanks

I was diagnosed with insulin resistance and was up to 280 units of insulin a day and my sugar was running around 17 - 20.  Gaining weight was monthly and nothing I did would stop it.  After my RNY in November, I take 25 units a day and my sugar is normal.  I have lost 66 pounds and feel like a 12 year old.  I have my health back and I'm so grateful.
