A little fustrated.
I had lap band on the the 3rd my surgeon gave me instructions to stop diabetic meds and only begin adding them if blood sugar started to elevate. So I got home and my BS was awesome running right at 100. then yesterday it was 115 fasting so I took a glucatrol then this morning it was 135 fasting. I don't understand the problem. Still losing weight, still doing good in full liquid diet. I have maybe 3 carb choices a day. Someone give some encouragement or insight.

For starters, be patient. Second, the band rarely puts diabetes into remission because it does not inflict any sort of metabolic change since there is no malabsorption. Third, be patient again - your body is healing from a SURGERY, and any stress on the body can cause glucose levels to elevate. Are you taking readings other than just fasting? How are your post-prandials (even if only after something like a protein shake)?
Yeah many folks don't account for TAG - total available glucose when they eat counting the protein and not just the carbs.(so checking more than just fasting is always a good thing as previously posted) Stress, dehydration can cause blood sugars to flucuate. Just a couple weeks out, and already off medication is good. But it doesn't mean that anything is totally wrong either if you need the extra help. better to know you need it than to need it when its too late.
Keep plucking along, A change will really show up when you have at least a 5% to 10% weight drop. Often that is all that is needed to have medication changes when type 2.
