If you had WLS and Diabetes....then got pregnant....
I am just wondering if there is anyone out there who has been through anything similar and if so what was the outcome? I realize that we are all different....just wondering.
I got Gestational Diabetes last year and was on alot of insulin by 13 weeks and it never went away after pregnancy. It turned into regular diabetes (type 2 I think) and I was put on a pill once a day. When I started the 2 week liquid pre-op diet, I quit the pills knowing that it would drop my sugar too low and I maintained around 120 without pills on the liquid diet. I am pretty sure that my diabetes is somewhat cured and will be completely cured in the future.
My question is...if I get pregnant again next year ...I know my odds are very high for gestional diabetes again...but what about type 2 after pregnancy since I will be 140 lbs lighter? Has anyone every dealt with this situation? Thanks!

*19.6 of the pounds were lost during the 2 week pre-op diet.
