incipient diabetic nephropathy?

Hi, I just sighned up for this sight, hoping to have my bypass surgery within the next year.  I have had diabetes for about 18 years.  I didnt see to much on here about anyone on kidney dialysis.  I found out in March of 2008 that my kidneys had failed,  all my levels were so high i almost died.  I weighed 486 when i went into the hosp.  I had not realized i had gained that much weight,  but  I have lost 103 (60 of which was taken off during 7 weeks of dialysis) pounds. The rest was lost between May 2008 and a month ago.  I am looking forward to getting my bypass so i can get on the kidney transplant list.  is there anyone out there that has ESRF that has had bypass?
