pre op liquid diet

I'm type 2 diabetic and for 3 days before my surgery I need to do all clear liquids. I know I'll be talking to a nut about it later, but how did you manage your blood sugars while doing nothing but the liquids?

For me, it would be easier if I'm not taking in any sugar. My levels wouldn't shoot up, and I wouldn't have any reactive lows.

I must say this liquid diet sucks, today is day 4 with 10 days to go!  I have Diabetes (10 yrs now). I am on an Insulin pump and had to keep adjusting the amount it gives me I hardly Bolus anymore. LOL I was having lows in the morning like 39....43....67 so I lessened my dose and yesterday my sugar was 109 when I got up.  After shopping yesterday my sugar was 61 when I got home and I lowered the doses again at midnight last night my sugar was 57 so I slammed a 1/4 can regular orange pop and my sugar this morning was 181.  I can do without the LOWS but I'm figuring it out as I go. Hopefully I know what I'm doing. LOL
