New endo and hope for changes!

Good day everyone!

I am switching endo's here in the next few days.  This last straw was due to a mix up of meds called into the pharmacy. He called in a blood pressure med-and I am NOT even on one!  Good thing the pharmacist asked me!  I am on a ****tail of Byetta, Glipizide, Actos, Fortamet, Lisinopril(kidneys),Levoyxl and baby asprin.  The Actos is causing weight gain like nobody's business-23lbs since I got put on it back in July! And it's causing my legs to swell-and he's NOT concerned.  Well, dang I am! So I am kicking him to the curb and finding a new Dr!

I've been type 2 now since 98-had gestational diabetes 3 times.  So I know what to do, but something needs to be changed and I feel like the time is now.  I need to lose about 80lbs at this point-more would be better, but I want to see what's underlying with all the weight.  There's a lot more going on than the type 2.  I even tried Medifast for a month-didn't lose even 1 pound!  I gained 40lbs in less than 6 weeks back when I was 19(non-diabetic then) and it just keeps on coming.  They say I have PCOS-yet none of the symptoms with it. I am like clock work for the last 22 years and had 3 kids no problem and no cysts.  Adrenal problems were talked about-but no tests ever done.

Time to get to the bottom of all this-that's why I am considering WLS.  But for now, I want to get on a semi-even keel.

Nice to meet all of you-here to get advice, and try new ideas with the type 2.

They hint around that I may have PCOS, too, but I've never been handed an official diagnosis. I have type 2 diabetes (diagnosed at age 25--eek!), and I've had emergency surgery for ovarian cysts when I had just turned 16. But I don't have any of the other symptoms, so who knows.

I haven't had any kids yet, but thanks to the cysts, I only have 2 ovary left, so I need to be as healthy as possible when the time comes for me to try to get pregnant!

I'm heading for a Duodenal Switch (DS), the WLS with the highest chance of kicking my diabetes in the butt!

I had my first round of gestational diabetes at 23-had my daughter at 24.  They tell me that I had diabetes for some time but it but took some time before it was full type 2.  Never had one problem at all getting pregnant and when the type 2 came back after baby 3, I would have never known if I had done a random fasting BS on my own-I had no symptoms(still don't).  But I still argue with the PCOS diagnosis-it just doesn't fit.  One doesn't gain 40lbs in 6 weeks and then have their period for 3 weeks a few days off and back again for 2 weeks.  Not one of my Dr's has ever addessed this-just that I need to lose weight. Gee there rocket scientist I'd never had guessed that one!

This is why  I am hopeful about the new endo.  I hope she'll really listen and we'll figure this out.  I'd like better control of my diabetes while I decide if I should do the WLS.  I did have one Dr concerned about the hump on the back of my neck and purple stretch marks I have on the belly-adrenal problems were mentioned-possibly Cushings?  I've also got nodules on my thyroid that showed up on a ultrasound.  I am a walking mess, lol
