3 months out, good numbers
Since I was kind of whinning a couple of months ago I thought I would post some good news. I am T2 diabetic, taking pills the last 8 years, well controlled but sliding downhill a bit each year. I left hospital after my RNY off diabetes meds and was told to continue to test but not medicate unless I went over 200. It was usually between than 130-170 fasting in the beginning. Now, at three months I test fasting at 103. But it took the full three months and 44 pounds of weight loss. I still have lots of weight to go but I seem to be a slow loser (probably age, medical problems) and am down to one HP med and one cholesterol pill. I see my PCP next week and hope I can stop the cholesterol med all together. My DH says I eat less now than I used to spill--LOL. For me it just was a matter of time and weight loss. BTW I now look like a bag lady in my winter things so some shopping is on my adgena.
I'm so glad that you posted this! I also had been complaining a while back. My lap-band gets installed on this Wednesday, but with the presurgical weight loss I've also seen great improvement. I'm off insulin (still with 4 other oral meds) and this morning my blood sugar was 93!! That is a big vicotory for me. When i started this process, even with insulin, my morning readings were 160 or +. Weight loss alone can do it!
I hope you enjoy shopping for some attractive clothing!

Thanks for posting the update--it's great to hear you're doing better!
You'll have to hit all the upcoming holiday sales for yourself for some new winter clothes! A lot of people also suggest second-hand shops since you likely won't be staying in the sizes you buy for too long, but it depends on where you live (I know I have checked thrift stores near me and have had difficulty finding any plus-sized clothes).
