RATE OF WEIGHT LOSS FOR TYPE 1

I was curious about the rate of weight loss for type 1's after surgery, due to continued use of insulin. Can any one post op out there to enlighten me? I think that slower would not be so bad as it would help with minimizing the amount of loose skin.

I do have one T1 friend who has done extremely well (with the VSG). Here is a link to her profile page. http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/jsquared/

Good luck!

Why can't my inner fashionista and my inner feminist just get along? Ros-mari

Very slow for my daughter, Type I and II after WLS. She is almost 4 months out. Lost quickly first 2 months: 40 lbs, thereafter slowly. Total loss is 50 lbs, with often several days going by with no weight loss, or a gain of a couple pounds. Insulin levels went way down, and are now creeping up, but still lots better. Loose skin on tummy is all, so far. Good luck.

I have lost  65 in 3 months...but it has slowed down big time.  I am a Type 1..was on a pump before...I am off the pump now and take about 25 units of insulin a day.  About the loose skin...I work out A LOT and drink tons of water...so far the loose skin is on my stomach and inner thighs...hopefullly it will get better.  So the slower the better for me too!

Good Luck!
