How do you treat low bs
Hi L
I've had it a couple of times since surgery - which is novel because I had such high blood sugar before it!
I think the key is eating regularly - perhaps every couple of hours - probably early out from surgery we forget to eat, or forget how little we can eat at one time, and leave too long before the next food.
Choosing foods that have slow release carbs can help too. Sugar can be too 'instant' and make your blood sugar spike and drop again, so something with a lower glycaemic index like brown bread, brown rice etc might help. Taking protein food in at the same time can be good too.

Thanks Sal. I haven't had one yet, just want to get prepared. I had the RNY so sugar is out - it makes you dump apparently. I have been getting hungry and do find myself wanting something in between meals - that never happened before either. So today I had 1/2 a yogurt. Can't eat bread at all - I have celiac disease. I guess I will keep meals regular.
Thanks
L.
