Diabetes meidication?

Hi, everyone

I’m new to this MB, just wanted to say hi and see if I could get a little help on something. I’ve been diabetic for the last 2 years, I’ve been monitoring it with diet and exercise. Lately my blood sugars have been in the 250’s-270’s some days that’s fasting and someday it’s two hours after meals. I’m looking into getting RNY and they won’t do surgery until your blood sugars are 180 around or before meals. I want to go on medication to start better controlling my diabetes pre op, could anyone recommend any, medication which I could recommend to my PCP? Thanks, Kim

Your doctor should know what is best for you. I am a little shocked that you haven't been on medication before - your blood sugar is seriously out of control.
