NOT LOSING ANY LONGER

Hi, I had my gastric bypass in August 2005. I have stopped losing weight about 3 months ago. I experience low blood sugar almost every day. I am a diabetic, but no longer on medication. I eat right and keep my carbs to a minimum. Has anyone else experienced this issue where no weight will come off and low blood sugar? I do have a procedure coming up to put scar tissue around my stomach to see if it helps me keep the food in my pouch longer. It's called an endoscope with scolora (sp?). They say it should help with hunger. I hope it helps with low blood sugar too. If anyone is experiencing this issue, I would love to chat. I am so upset that I haven't reached my goal. I am still technically obese and need to lose about 50 more lbs. Thanks Karen

Hi Karen, Don't worry to much about not losing anymore because everyone loses differently. I also stopped losing at 8 months PO, its very common. Try and get back to basics, and work out more to change your metabolism. If you're still having low blood sugars, try adding protein with carbs. Good luck with the procedure. I have never heard of adding scar tissue. I always thought you don't want to have scar tissue! There are alot of studies available on the internet about low blood sugar and gastric bypass.......try a search. Sometimes the pancreas is over-producing insulin now. Take care Wendy

Hi Wendy, Thank you for the advice. Once I have the procedure done, I'll let you know how it went.
