Protein Drink Question
Does anyone know of a low sugar protein drink that actually taste good?? I am diabetic and have to have the lowest suagr possible. I also have a question, do any of you make them in the blender and then your blender have a funny smell to it? I'm guessing it has to be because of the protein??

Hello,
Congrats on your success so far.. I just got banded on 9/11/06 and I am down 26 pounds, like you said of course from the liquid diet phase.....I like the Atkins Advantage shakes in the can.. I also the Designer Whey Protein powder that I mix myself...Both are great tasting shakes and are low in sugar and high in protein......Are you still on diabetic meds, since you lost all the weight,. That is my goal, to get off the meds. I was taking 1500 Metformin, now I am on 500 ( pill).....Good luck.
I like Protein Delight which comes in a lot of flavors. My favorite is Chocolate Coconut, which I think has about 3 grams of carbs. I mix it in my blender with chocolate carb countdown, which adds 5 carbs. My blender doesn't have any funny smells to it and I have been using it every day for the past 2 months.

Hi Charlene,
I also love the Isopure Protein especially in the Dutch Chocolate. I only use 1 scoop at a time which is 25 grams of protein but I mix it with Hoods Calorie Control Chocolate Milk (has much less sugar and carbs than regular low fat milk) and a few ice cubes.
It tastes just like a chocolate milkshake. Love, love, love it.
Also good are the Zero Carb Isopure in the premixed bottles. They come in several flavors are 20oz and have 40grams of protein per bottle. My favorite is the Alpine Punch. I usually mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with Crystal Lite Lemonade and sip it all day. It's an easy way to get in your liquids and protein at the same time.
