Topic: Some of my favorite Snacks and things to help me maintain my weight loss!

Hello,
It is not by chance that a person can lose weight after weight loss surgery and keep it off. It is a lifestyle change, not a diet that is temporary, but healthy changes that they can live with for a life time. I think some of the changes I have made makes it possible for me to keep the weight off and not feel deprived or have those horrible cravings that I had before Weight Loss Surgery.

After a workout I will sometimes eat a Balance Carb Well Bar, I like the Caramel ‘n Chocolate, tastes great and has 14 grams of protein. But remember there are calories!

Sometimes we need a quick snack and have not planned for it. I have compiled a few of the things I would eat if I were going to have a snack. I hope these tips and ideas can help you. And if you have any tips for me, please pass them on. I would love to hear about them!   Remember that all food even healthy food has calories and they add up. Whatever you put in your mouth you have to work off! These are just some ideas for you, and you can be creative with what you like and switch them up a little.    I wish you much success on your weight loss journey!

This is just one snack I enjoy, if you would like you can go to my blog to see other snacks and also some of my other favorite things.

Topic: Do you like Blueberries? This is good for breakfast or snack and is really Yummy!

I don't know about you but I get into a rut with breakfast and just eat the same thing...but this is so simple and just so yummy...I had to share.

The blueberries are in season and are so sweet!

Blueberries
Low fat Granola cereal
Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt (I like the vanilla they now have Dannon Light and Fit Carb and Sugar Control)

It is like a treat...I look forward to it.

Breakfast is usually the hardest meal to come up with something different for me.  Let me know if you have a good tip.

Take care,

Ginger

Topic: Hi--I just want to introduce myself and meet y'all!
Hi everyone!
My name is Candace, I'm not only new to this board--I'm new to DC. :)

I moved out here form Idaho in Feb; I'm a full-time Mom to an awesome 5-year old boy.

I'm super-curious about how to get started with this weightloss surgery? I finally reached the point in the last few months that I realized this weight isn't ever going to come off without surgery. I have done The Zone, South Beach, Body Bugg, Weigh****chers, Six Week BodyMakeover, phentermine...you name it. I might drop 30lbs, but it comes back with backup.

All the different methods of surgery--in addition to finding a doctor and going through the hoops for the insurance--just feels so overwelming to me. Can someone please help a girl out and shed some light on where to start?

Who are the doctors worth seeing?

What are the "best" surgery options? What goes in to picking one technique over another? And what are the "mini" and the "sleave"?

I am 259/5'8" sz 20-22/2x-3x...

Does anyone know if surgery is effective if you have PCOS?

I'm looking forward to meeting y'all and learning about the options here...Something tells me DC/Virginia is a much better place to have surgery than Idaho would have been..:)

Thanks!
C

Dr. Schweitzer is the ONLY one there who knows how to do the DS, and he now only does it in 2 steps instead of 1, regardless of BMI (and, depending on the day and who you ask, you'll get different responses as to why he now does this - momst recently, they seem to have been sticking to the same story that they don't want patients under anesthesia long enough for a full DS, which is some BS considering Dr. Schweitzer is one of the FASTEST surgeons in the country when it comes to performing the full DS). Plus, I don't think he likes me very much - I ask too many questions and actually know what the hell I'm talking about, and I don't think he's used to that (or that he likes being challenged or questioned)!

Jilly, while you're over there with Drs. Schweitzer, Magnuson, Steele, or Lidorcan and the lot would you please convince  one of the surgeons into giving me a DS?  Please, pretty please!
