Topic: newsletter
Hi, guys this is my first time.
I am in the process of putting together a crafts newsletter for the Baton Rouge area which is located in Louisiana to those of you who did not know.
Do you guys have any ideas on topics I could use in the newsletter?
I did have (1) good idea! Run an article in the local newspapper requesting crafters both beginners and professionals to send in stories and pictures about their crafting experience.
Do you think that's a good ideal? Let me here from you guys.
Thank you,
Carrol

Topic: RE: Painting on slate???
Hi, yep, painting on slate is sooooo cool. I paint on just about anything and I love the texture of slate. I use acrylic paints with a sealer underneath. I have found the medium consistency is nice to work with, too thick or too thin dosn't work well for me.
I go to AC Moore's, Michals, Wal-mart has some too. I use Americana, this is just right for me. I use Ceramacoat when I want a thinner paint and Folk Art when I need thicker paint. I don't use the other brands but I am sure there are some good ones too. Those are the main three cause I can mix and match according to the directions, or convert from one to the other. Jo Sonja's paint and sealer is very nice. So, hope this helps and happy painting!!!

I'm from Missouri, Lake of the Ozarks to be exact. I love to do crafts. I do a craft class with the kids at our church once a month on Saturday. Plus I do the crafts for Vacation Bible School. In my spare time I make purses and totes and I love to sew... Liz
Topic: Hi e1, this is my 1st tim...
Hi e1, this is my 1st time on this board. I am not a craft type person, but I really want to try to do this. If any1 here watches ALL MY CHILDREN u'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
Ok, when Babe & J.R. were about to get married, she gave him a big snow globe with a pic of the 2 of them with their son inside. I would so love to get 1 for my daughter's Mother's Day present. Does any1 know where I can either buy 1 or buy the materials so that the kids & I can make it?.....Eve
