Hi More Updates
Had the appointment with the rheumatologist on Wed Sept 29.  He has ordered 3 more tests to check for autoimmune responses  and also got referral to a dermatologist and genetics department.  I always knew I had very flexable buit have diagnosis of hypermolitity syndrome.  There are some connective tissue disorders that hypermobility is part of the equation, also with genetic referral there may also be other things that can have malabsorbtion as part of it too.

I have the appointment with the dermatologist on Tuesday Oct 5 and the genetic department on November 29 but if opening before this date will get in then.

The followup with endocrinologist on Thurs Sept 30 was a good one too.  Now my calcium levels are low sespite uptake on calcium supplement and D levels are down in the dumps at 20 when in may it was 33.

Endocrinologist did state this is hungry bone syndrome.  My calcitriol has been upped from 0.5 mcg twice daly to 1 mcg twice daily.  hopefully labs will improve.

On Mon Oct 4 i have an appointment for a physical therapy evaluation to see where strengthening can be done to help limit injury to tendons, ligaments, and joints.  The farrow wraps for the lymphedema is in i get them monday too my appointment with lymphedema therapist is at same place as PT back to back appointments.

Follow Up with Gastro is end of oct.

Keep posted with more

One of the best revision surgeons in the world is John Husted in Phoenix, AZ.  I see on the boards all the time people going to him from all over the country.  He's one of 4 surgeons that can take down bypass and revise to DS and he's one of 2 that can do it via lap vs. full open.  He's also one of two surgeons in the world that can do the Vergito.

Not that you necessarily want to revise to another surgery type but if you are going to take down your bypass you seriously need a fantastic revision surgeon.  Risks can be high anyway let alone not having someone very experienced.

I have his cell # if you are interested.  I met him when I went to a consult on behalf of a friend in Conn.  I was living in Phoenix at the time.

Yes, you can still have stones after having your gallbladder removed. That or possibly esophageal spasms? Feels JUST like a heart attack!

I have read that even if you do NOT have a gall bladder, you can still produce gall stones.... a possibility??

I am going through the same thing and am looking for answeres too.  I can't eat hardly anything other than soft foods and soup.  My weight is always dropping because I am sick weekly.  I am in pain constantly and throwing up.  I have had many of the same tests only to find my gall bladder is ok and i have an ulcer.  I am taking nexium as well as carafate, and have been for 7 months, still i am no better.  It has really become frustrating.  the gastrologist has scheduled me for a colonoscopy and upper gi.  please keep me posted and i will do the same.  i know the answer is out there somewhere.

is the pain on the left or right side.  if on right then maybe gall bladder but if left could be opther thinkgs as well.. there are intermintant intusseption where it causes intense pain burning ect but when imaging studies done then it shows nothing,  best when this happens again goto er as there may some underlying issues going on.  many have problems after gastric bypass that are not the norm but need to be your own advocate and impowered patient with doing research on own as well.  a good source of information is pubmed.com, emedicine.com ect.  just make sure ffrom reliable sources.  this coud even be something going on with kidneys or liver.  it is one of things that at this time is of unknown cause and should be followed up if the gastro doc not much help also ask your physician too about the symptoms.  GL in feeling better.
