Topic: RE: Any ideas?
Thanks for asking, Hala!  I have grandbabies visiting, so I've been a little flying woman and haven't done anything but chase diapers!  It's amazing that I have the energy to do that!  :)  Actually, I think I'm fine.  The surgeon said that the lump is inside the muscle itself.  I had guessed scar tissue, and that's what he said, too, except  he also said, "Hmmm.  You had mesh, didn't you?"  I don't have a clue whether I had mesh or not, but I guess that would make sense.  Anyway, it doesn't hurt at this point---just a pinch or tug every once in awhile.  I go back to the doctor in a couple of months for him to recheck.

Now I'm just trying to find my place in my new reversed world.  I'm fine, except everytime I see half a pound up on the scale, I have a minor freak out session.  I have so much to learn about how my body works.  One weird thing---I'm no longer lactose intolerant!  So interesting.

Are you trying to lose more weight, or is it just happening?  I haven't read your story, but I will.

I have an online friend who went to MX for hers.  She is from Canada I believe.  I'll see if she will pop on and share her experience.  She seems to be happy enough with the results.

Hello. I read old posts sometimes just to read something new. Your posts are from 2005. Did you ever get resolution? I was hoping to go to your site and read how you got revision surgery, lost the weight, all is well.

I don't need WLS, I just need to eat better and do SOME exercise. I weigh about 210 which I only realize when I look in a mirror, or see a picture. I'm not in many pictures!

My husband and I spent our first 21 years in Iowa. Then on to Hawaii, WA and OR, and now Ohio, 45 years later. It is grandchildren territory.

I hope this message works.

Topic: RE: Rare complication of bariatric surgeries and the term of NIPHS (non-insulinoma pancreatogenic hypogl
Jules, I have just discovered your post on hypoglycemia for more information..I had my rny in June of '02. I began to experience very odd and drained feelings after I would eat my meals...I began to delay eating at work, because I would always want to sleep!...and I was an elementary art teacher!...and many times I would experience what I now know was a blood sugar drop...my daughter saw how sick I was becoming...as sleeping all the time wasn't normal and I visited my PCP..who performed the fasting glucose test...sure enough...my blood sugar rose and dropped rapidly and I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetes...but the meds given me made the hypoglycemia worse!...and I felt awful...so I visited an endocrinologist...who again gave me the glucose test and he also monitored my insulin levels...and again I crashed...as my blood sugar rose...so did the insulin...until the crash..so he took all meds away and asked that I record my blood sugar readings for a few months..he was pleased with  the blood sugar readings and suggested no meds...just increased my vitamin a and D...but to this day...I still feel dopy when I eat any carbs...I hate how foods make me feel....llike I am drunk...and now that I have had a diabetes diagnosis on record, no insurance company will write me a policy!...any suggestions in your research?

Topic: RE: I had my RNY Reversed!!!!!
I had my rny takedown/reversal 3.5 years after my wls.  It's been almost three years since my takedown and all I can say is trust your intuition and listen to your body. I wish I KNEW about a takedown earlier. Yes I did get much better but I would have been better in the long run had I had the takedown asap.  Now I live with residual PN but other than that I am A OK.

Thanks so much, Jules.  I called the doctor's office, and he's going to see me tomorrow. I think I'm just fine, but I'll feel better when I know it's a nothing kind of thing.

It looks like, from your posts, that you have literally been through the ringer!  I'm so sorry you've had such a terrible time.  I hope you get some "down" time from your pain.  I have some chronic pain (arthritis/degenerative disc disease/sacroiliitis,) though absolutely nothing like what you've been through.  There's such a delicate balance between acknowledging the chronic nature of that pain, and trying to not succumb to it, emotionally or physically.  I always feel like it's so b-o-r-i-n-g to other people if they ask about my progress, and I tell them.   I'm grateful to this forum for that reason.

Thanks for your support.  Keep us posted, and I'll do the same!

Viv,
I think you are right to get it checked out ASAP...especially if this is a new development that has just popped up.  Good luck and feel better!!
