Tell me more. Where in the abdomen do you feel this pain? I have been having the exact same problem now for a few months. I passed it off at first as to something I ate wrong. I have an appt on Tues to have this checked out.

Topic: RE: Hypoglycemia information for all-xpost

My goodness is this a blessing to see... I am 4 1/2 years out of GBS lost over 150lbs.... have been battling hypoglycemia since November 2005. All doctors told me I was crazy until my blood sugar went from 310 to 23 in less than 3 hours (Feb 2008). I was than hospitalized for several days....and again 3 more hospitalization after that with my most recent blood sugar level bottoming out at 19.  I am currently seeking medical attention at Shand's Hospital in Gainesville FL.  They are preparing to preform the partial pancreas surgery.  I have since lost my job of 81/2 years and been placed on long term disability at the age of 30.  All due to the extreme problems that have NOT been resolved with diet nor 2 different medications (ACARBOSE & JANUVIA).  I live hour to hour wondering when my next episode will happen.... There is NO telling when or what really triggers my episodes because it has happened after eating straight protien (plain chicken or salad ....no dressing). This complication has caused emotional and physical depression to the point I wish I would never wake up somedays.  I maintained my weight of 127-135 for over 3 years then gained over 40 lbs in less than 3 months (MY EATING HAS NOT CHANGED) now the doctors are stating it is due to the hypoglycemia reactive..... Was the GBS all worth in? I don"t think so now....Will I ever lose the weight and live a health life after this pancreas surgery? I am so scared....please help

Topic: RE: Anyone have an unlocked band?
Hi Shortiegirl

My band was unlocked, which finally gave me the answer about why it never worked for me the way it did for all my band friends. I was banded in 2005 and the band was removed due to severe erosion in Oct 2007. I asked to see the band and it is clear that the locking mechanism had not been connected. It was one of the older 4cc Inamed bands and when I actually locked it, there was no way in could have come undone by itself. I am now waiting on a VSG in 3 weeks.

Yes, that is TOTALLY possible!!  I will be seeing a local surgeon vs my own #1 he doesn't really care abt what is happening now. #2 he is 1.5 hrs away and given the situation with gas I don't wanna travel that far.  As long as someone is willing to see you - you have a right to choose who you'd like to see for what ails you.

I have to respond to this because since '06 I've been having gastric problems, severe abdo pain, nausea, throwing, cold sweats that happen at sporatic times..last one was 6 months ago but then it happened 3.5 weeks ago and then again on 7/3. In the back of my mind I wonder if there is something going on with my old stomach the pain is stabbing leaves me hyperventilating. The shortness time of duration is 1.15 hrs the longest 4.5hrs of severe pain and misery..everyone (medical) thinks is gas but for that length of time I can not really say. Ihave had a CT, MRI last year as well as an endoscopy. Im seeing a different bariatric surgeon because my surgeon has not bothered to respond to requests and when I've called him in pain..he says "go to the ER".  Then it seems after this pass the subsenquent days I can't have a normal eating life since everytime I eat I have down tums or antacids but yet I don't have any heartburn at all. I did not have a G tube placed in my old stomach when I had surgery and am research for some possible here in the "complications area of OH.

Topic: RE: GERD or Hypochlorhydria? (too little acid)

I may experienced this..and my doc prescribed REGLAN.  Try to see if that works..it worked for a time..though it can cause drowsiness.
