Topic: RE: Candy Cane Roux Syndrome

I had my bypass 9/8/13 and for 9 weeks after I was very ill. I would lose conciousness, feel very sick and couldn't eat anything. My surgeon was very efficient and with help from his own mentor figured out that I had candy cane syndrome. He immediately operated by stitching down my bowel as it had twisted and removing 5cm of the excess roux limb. After surgery I felt fine but several months on I am failing to eat without feeling extream tiredness, dizziness and pain. I'm not diabetic and am regularly tested for it. But I am confident that my surgeon will have this in hand very soon. It pays to see the brightness through all of this. Else you tend to make bigger problems for yourself. Myself and my surgeon will be also meeting with a specialist endocrinologist next week. I'm 8 months post surgery. I've dropped 10 stone. I'm in cloths I never dreamed is be in and have a smile on my face. I know it's hard and frustrating but it's still worth it. Hang on in there everyone cos your never on your own xxx

Topic: Hello everyone, it's been a long time. Looks like a transplant for me as a result of gastroparesis

Hi everyone,

I hope this finds you all in better health! My health has steadily declined. Instead of me doing a lot of copying/pasting, please read my updated blog if you have time. The short story is that my surgeon at Cleveland clinic was hoping that the gastroparesis had only knocked out my stomach and nothing else, he did the complete gastrectomy in July 2012, and I've had no improvement. I saw Dr. Kroh on April 7th when I got to Cleveland and he told me that I have end stage bowel disease and needed a transplant. My blog has more details, I'm still here having a battery of tests for the transplant team. They are thinking that I will need a stomach, intestines, and a pancreas. It's a scary step, but it also has opened up hope for me because the future was looking bleak. Thank you all, and sorry I've been away so long. Here is my email address because I'm not on here as much as I used to be [email protected]

health & happiness to all of you!

Jules

Topic: DS Reversal Anyone used Dr. Keshishian or Rabkin brothers in California? Positive responses only

To make a long story short, I had my DS surgery done about 2 years ago. I was a sleeve and lost only 50 pounds due to other issues. I stayed at the same weight for about 5 years before deciding to do the DS. I have never had diabetes, high blood pressure or heart problems etc. Nor in my family. I was just fat. So I met with Dr. Daryl Stewart I expressed my deep concerns about bowel movements. Diarrhea was the reason I was hesitant about doing this surgery. He said he only had one patient he had to firm up a diet for. Well I get this surgery done. And I have been pooping non-stop! Farting like crazy no matter what I eat. And yes I take my vitamins. I have been underemployed and unemployed since getting my surgery, therefore cannot afford to get this surgery reversed back to a sleeve. Dr. Stewart is deceased now. And his nurse Sue was very nasty to me about 8 months ago when I went to them with my concerns. It was all my fault. I went to my primary care and was told I needed to see a specialist. I have lost over 130 pounds. 100 was my goal. I poop around 5 times a day sometimes more. I go to my car at work after eating because of farting. I have farted once at my cubicle and almost got found out. If I were found out they could have fired me, for creating a horrible work enviroment. At times I am very dehydrated and dizzy because of the malnourishment. I look anorexic at a size 2/4 and I cannot excercise to firm up because I will lose weight. Any cardio I do will cause me to lose weight. I also have a gift: a hemmorriod! I have lost a relationship over this because he couldn't wait on me to get this reversed and get my body lift. Fully dressed I look like an extremely thin woman. But naked, I look like some third world starved, 90 year old woman! My faith and my family is what keeps me going everyday. I want to know if any one has gotten their surgery reversed by these California doctors? My understanding is they have a lot of take down experience and I plan to make a trip out to meet with one of them very soon. I know have a good job with health insurance. I don't know if Dr. Aiollo has any experience in take downs or not. I have not decided if I want to deal with them anymore. I am needing the best care for my life. This is my life. I will not respond to haters that say everything is my fault etc etc. I am doing what I must do to be healthy, happy, heal and be whole. God bless you all!

Topic: RE: Pills feel stuck in esophagus. Anyone else have this problem??

How large are the pills you are swallowing? I had RNY and my surgeon requires chewable pills - anything larger than the end of a pencil (eraser part) is not allowed to be swallowed. Maybe you are taking pills that are too large?

Qbandiva,

I was wondering how you are doing and if your POTS and hypoglycemia have been helped by anything.  I have both as well and am looking for any information that may help me.
