Topic: RE: Drunk feeling and swaggering while walking?
I have this problem at times but mine was related to letting myself get dehydrated. And then it's difficult to rehydrate quickly.
Topic: RE: Stricture??
I see this post was a long time ago but I thought I'd respond anyway. I had my DS surgery september 07 and developed a stricture at the bottom of my stomach around february 08 at first no one knew what was wrong because strictures are not common with the DS but ultimately i ended up in the hospital because i had no food or fluid period for about a week and was extremely sick. I had an upper endoscopy which revealed the exit of my stomach was only open about a pin hole size. I had to have a balloon dilation to open it back up it lasted 4 weeks i had it done every 4 weeks through november 08 in november 08 i saw a gastric specialist who dilated me and used steroid injections and that dilation lasted about 8 months and I am about to face another one. I am hoping the end is in sight. I made it to my goal in 7 months and I am still happy I had surgery even though this is taking its toll. Hope this helps feel free to email with any questions.
Topic: RE: Candy Cane Roux Syndrome
I am looking into this.
I just found out about Candy cane Roux today and THIS IS THE TROUBLE I AM HAVING!
I was hospitalized last year with high pancreatic levels and NO DOCTOR could figure out what my problem is, still cant and I vomit and get nauseated when I eat, currently have been put on glucophage because of my insulin levels skyrocketing, etc.
I am waiting to hear back from my surgeons nurse.

Topic: anyone here with a VSG
I am planning to have the VSG procedure but trying to find post about possible complications. I can't seem to find any post in this forum.
Does VSG just have way less complication? I honestly rarely rear about anyone having complications with ther VSG procedure.
Anyone with a band of bypass wish they had the VSG instead.

I would not in a million years make the same decision to have lap RNY. Although I haven't had all the complications many of you here have had, I've had enough to regret the surgery. Initially, lots of pain and wondering if I may have an adhesion beneath the main port scar. Also massive hunger but inability to eat or drink without being very sick. I have dumping syndrome on protein supplements but not high sugar/high fat food. Now, last week I had 6 episodes of supraventricular tachycardia and needed adenosine conversions in five of them. The sixth reset itself because I had uncontrollable vomiting and dry heaving. I'm now on the heart med Digoxin and see the cardiologist tomorrow. I had right bundle branch blockage before, but usually only had 1 or 2 episodes in a year. Having six within 3 days and four ambulance trips scared the heck out of me.
I've lost 50 pounds in six weeks and feel pretty tired most of the time. The surgery was supposed to relieve my diabetes (it didn't), lower my blood pressure (somewhat), get rid of my gnawing hunger (not a chance) and suddenly I'd feel lighter than air and happier than ever. What a bunch of hype that fools unsuspecting and desperate people into having someone rearrange your guts for you!
I've tried posting on the regular RNY board but feel like I'm whining (sometimes it seems others there made me feel that way). I don't want to be a rain cloud on someone's sunny parade but this is my experience and feelings. I wish I'd have read this forum before deciding on the surgery. It might have made me think it over more.

Have not heard of it or had it, but I think you are another person who is an example that we have to conscious of potential health risks from our choice to have surgery for the rest of our lives. Many people think that once the first year is over - they are "in the clear" and I am seeing more and more examples (including myself) that is not true.
