Topic: RE: Lots and Lots of trouble....need help finding the answer.
I have had 3 hernia surgeries in the last 2 yrs' the last one was on the 6th.  I have a lump there and whenever I eat or drink anything besides water It is very painful.  Actually I can't eat because I throw everything up.  I just had a TPN PICC line put in yesterday because of malnutrtion.  My surgeons have dialted me , the last time the opening was down to 3mm.  They stretched it to 10, and they might go again to 15, which is the max due to rupture.  I don't understand why it is all happening at once.  ANY HELP?

Thanks, I have been keeping up with your post too.  How long did you have to stay in the hospital when you had yours reversed.  Did you have the Roux-en-y?

Sharon,
I think you already know my story, but I just wanted to say that I think about you frequently, and hope that you find the right doc and the right solution, and I pray for that for myself as well
Hugs,
Jules

Topic: Feeding Tube
I am now 2 years post op and still have a feeding tube in.  I have been to several specialist to find out why I can not eat enough.  The GI Specialist all say that they see no reason why I can not eat.  I have had two seizures since my gastric bypass.  I have had a second opionion from another Bariatric doctor and he says he does not think reversing the surgery would help because I can just think of certain foods and it will make me nauseated.  I can eat just a little, and sometimes I can eat more. I am maintaining my weight at (132 pounds and I am 5'3) for about a year now between what I can eat and the nutrition I put through the feed tube/pump at night.   I have been so depressed that I can not do things I use to could do.  Has anyone had a feeding tube in for two years or more, and if so, have you thought about having the gastric bypass reversed?  I had the Roux-en-Y.  My surgeon keeps asking me if I want to reverse it, but I have heard so much that it is worse to have it reversed then to have it done.  I was just like some input on your thoughts.

Jules, I have a question.  When you had your bypass reversed, how long were you in the hospital?  I still have my feeding tube for two years now.  I am debating to have mine reversed.

Topic: RE: Low Blood Sugar (Dumping?)
Hello my name is Melinda, and this november will be my 4 year of post op.  i've recently had these symptoms also and worry that they can get worse.  I had a miscarage about 4 months ago and had gained some of my weight.  I am now doing my protien diet and watching my sugar.  I am wondering if anyone else has gained their weight and if you have what you are doing to lose.

Just be positive.  Do everything that you are supposed to do then let go, and Let God.

Like if you are supposed to be on a pre-op diet now - do it to a tee this way when they go in your liver will be shrunk, you'll have less belly fat and the procedure will be smoother.

Post-op follow your diet, take your supplements, & exercise - can you believe we still have to do that!!!  WLS makes it easier though.  You will not regret.

Blessings to you,
Leila

I am not asking because I am not going to get the surgery, but I wanted to know what signs and signals I should be looking for in hopes of catching them early to prevent any real damage!

Complications for the most part are just the luck of the draw - even when you have no co-morbids.  I had complications and no "real" co-morbids . . .yet!!!  It is just a matter of time when you are obese before diabetes HBP +++ all start happening.

I see you need to lose 157lbs - I'm no doc, but I do believe that you will have more complications long term  if you skipped WLS.

Good Luck,
L
