Topic: RE: unexpected lab results
I don't do anything. I don't feel anything. The only way I know is when I see my labs OR I get the cayenne pepper dots.
It's identified, it's on my medic alert. That's all.

Take your ph # off there and PM me with it, k?
OK, but after removing your #, remove fingers from panic buttons. I've had ITP for 30 yrs. Shortly before that, a very beloved dog died from it! Imagine MY horror, being told I had this disease nobody ever heard of but ME!
However, my dog's was acute, sudden onset.
Mine is chronic.
The way the doc described it to me in baby terms:
every day, the various vessels spring tiny leaks. EH platelets are bandaids that rush to the booboo, patch it up and we never know all this is going on.
When there are not enough, not all the booboos get patched. Some blood leaks thru to the under side of the skin. In my case, they look like cayenne pepper dots. My dog's were way bigger and way sudden, so let us not confuse ourselves.
Usually, by the time I'd get checked after I got dots, my platelets were back to normal and thus, the disease has stayed pretty well hidden for years. Every now and then, my labs would read the low end of the range, but not TOO low.
For awhile now, they've been showing low, but my hema said only if they drop below 100 does he even blink.

Topic: Reversal of RNY any and all stories are welcome......
Hi am seriously considering having a reversal of my RNY. I had my surgery in January and since the moment I woke up I have been nauseated and have had no appetite. The surgeon did upper endoscopy and found a ulcer in my pouch 2 weeks after surgery......2 weeks later back in the hospital for a feeding tube in the old stomach here I am 3 weeks from feeding tube insertion and the surgeon has told me if this does not work, I will have to have a reversal.............When any of you had yours reversed, have you noticed any improvement of any of your symptoms since the reversal????? I am still nauseated all the time, the Surgeon can not explain why. The tube feeding causes diarrhea and makes me feel even worse, than I already do.....This is no way to live..........
Thank you
Melissa

Topic: RE: 4th Yeast Infection in less than 3 months post op??????
I had this problem many years ago whenever I went on antibiotics but I have an immune deficiency, so due to a weakened immune system the antibiotics cleared up the good bacteria and left the bad stuff. It is very common for certain antibiotics to do this though - cipro is very prone to causing yeast infections and so is tetracycline. Try taking some acidophilous from the health food store but it must be refridgerated.

I'm right there with you! I can't say that I'm getting them for no reason, mine go with me taking antibiotics, but whenever I take antibiotics since surgery I get the WORST yeast infections. I have to take prescription yeast infection meds to get rid of it & one time it took weeks to get rid of one. Not sure why we're so sensitive after surgery; I'd be very curious to know. Definitely post what you find out after talking with the weight loss clinic today!!
Topic: A bulge under of my incisions
I had the R & Y on Feb 22, lapriscopically. I noticed on my 5th day at home after my Lovenox shot that there was a bump or bulge an inch under my incision on the right hand side. I thought it was fluid retention, but called the nurse just to check. She said probably and to keep an eye on it. There has been no pain to speak of.
While reaching into my washer, I had to lean into the machine and I pressed this bump up against the washer, it was a bit tender to the pressure. I don't know why, but suddenly it dawned on me that maybe this is a hernia. I was to start back to work recently but contacted the surgeon's office and they moved my office visit from the middle of next month to this Tuesday.
So, I am freaking out a bit. I've never had a hernia, I don't know anyone that's ever had one. I am scared.![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/frown.gif)
Anyone with smiliar experiences?
