My surgeon ended up giving me some meds to stop the diarrehea as it continued well into May.  The diarrehea stopped but the pain got incredibly worse.  I went to see my surgeon and he questioned my gallbladder.  Sure enough 5 days later the U/S showed gallstones and although the HIDDA scan was okay he got an OR and my gallbladder out last weekend.  I have to say although I was really sore for a few days my back pain was almost gone instantly!  Now if I could just get rid of the left side pain I would be so wonderful.

Well, I have not had the "typical road."  From January to April I had TPN and only put food in my mouth once during the day.  Each time I ate I continued to have pain on my left side.  In April Dr. Peters went back in and "cleaned" there were a few more adhesions and he opened up the Y a little bit more.  After that surgery I returned to eating and things were okay.  I had diarrehea from then until the middle of May.  I also had serious pain after eating.  I went back to the surgeron and we started to look at my gallbladder.  Sure enough, I had stones....my gallbladder was removed last weekend.

The good news is that I finally feel normal.  I still have pain on my left side and take pain meds fairly often.  I know for me an adhesion led from one things to another.  Was your adhesion causing a problem in the intestines

I know that I have had a lot of surgeries and each time I would try to bounce back, similar to after my original RNY and it never went that well.  I have to say that it was usually like 4-5 weeks before I felt "normal" and my life could pick back up!

I would love to hear what you find out. I am also 7 years out. I have been essentially constipated since my gastric bypass until this past year when I developed an issue with diarrhea. It has progressed to the point where I have not had a formed BM in months, I have an anal fistula, and now I feel like I have food stuck in my throat but I know I don't because I hardly eat anything and have an acidic feeling. I have been dx with ulcertive colitis. But can't help but think there is more to this story. I have very weird stomach/abd pains and in the past month chest pains that I know are not cardiac.

I am scared that I am breaking down a suture line or something. I do take a lot of medications due to some other medical conditions and I have always viewed it as risk vs benefit...well, I am wondering if it is payment time.

I also was experiencing lower back pains and severe abdominal pains. went into the ER and they said i had diverticulitis. 2 mos later went back into the ER for the same symptoms after another CAT scan with dye they said it could be that my fallopian tubes and ovaries were inflamed. then i went to see an a specialist and said it wasn't. Now i have to get a colonoscopy done. I have lost 74 lbs and is happy to have lost the weight, but i don't know what's going on. My advice is to listen to your body. if you are having sever back pains and abdominal cramping go and get checked.

Good luck and hope you feel better.

Topic: Dr. Mario Alberto Almanza-Reyes
I was just posting this because I've had more people than I thought, write me and let me know how much their sorry and how they are praying. My momma is one of the nicest people out there, I wish that we can individually meet each and every person on this website that are planning on going to Dr. Almanza. I wish I could take you guys through a normal day in my life now that everything has messed up in my life. Going through my last summer as a high school student. I can't have fun... I won't have fun. I want justice to be served!!! I want to save someone's life. Please this is NO JOKE!! I wake up everyday and I think and pray about anybody who's in or going into surgery with Dr. Almanza... I pray for you guys. I don't even know you guys. My mom has been in ICU on a ventilator for 7 days now... my best friend... I can't go see her whenever I want to anymore... visiting hours are precise. My mom won't be able to see the 17th Anniversary of me arriving in this world, because she's too busy going through something that shouldn't have ever happened!!! DOCTORS MAKE MISTAKES... BUT WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR MAKES MISTAKES OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.. Yes, you might have had a WONDERFUL experience... but listen to the stories people.. just because you were lucky DOES NOT mean that everybody else was. There are many people around the United States and Canada that are dealing with their friends and/or family members DYING with deadly infections, holes in stomachs, esophagus, etc. You guys keep telling your friends to go.... and eventually, you are going to go through what me and my family and plenty other families are going through right now. I'm not trying to harsh Dr. Almanza's "mellow".... I am truly, honestly, and dedicative to preventing as many people from going to this doctor as possible. Please spend the extra money and getting done by someone who is, not only cheap and kind, but dedicated to helping you. Not a doctor who is just going to WHAM BAM over and never see you post-op (to many people). Please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE..... I am not doing this to get back at Dr. Almanza or anybody that is working over there just because they've done this to my momma. I am doing this to prevent YOU from ever going through something like this. It IS NOT FUN.
Love always and forever,
Miranda

Hi, you'd probably be out of work somewhere along the lines of 4-6 weeks.

Topic: RE: nausea
I suffer from chronic nausea from time to time and take Compazine for it. It is prescribed from my doc and it does seem to help most of the time. They also prescribe Reglan for it, but it can come with nasty psychological side effects. Also available through your doc is a med called Zolfran, which they give to patients suffering nausea from chemo therapy.  If you can't see your doc due to insurance reasons or anything, maybe you could try Dramamine which helps with motion sickness, but could help you with your nausea. Hope this helps. You will also be in my prayers. Take care and God bless.

Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? I say, what difference does it make--I paid for a full glass,so either way I am getting jipped!!!

Topic: My Daughter is having problems from Rny on Wednesday
My daughter had her Lapband removed about 2-3 months ago. Her keep having problems with her port. She has the bypass done Wednesday. She has been getting weaker each day and now they think she may have a leak. She has been having blood in her stool so she went to the ER and they did xrays and believe she may have a leak.
Does anyone know or can tell me anyhting about any of this?
I have the lapband and know how all that works but I don't know anything about the bypass and it has me really worried about her.
Thanks, Lori
