Hi, I'm glad you found the answer! I'm about to post an update to my blog, but if you want to check it out, I have had very similar issues over the last two years.  I am about to start on a journey to finding out if I am a candidate for a gastric pacemaker, and there are probably several doctors in the country that do it, but according to Cleveland Clinic, there is one in Mississippi that has pioneered it, and he is one of the few (maybe the only one) who has a test that is done by endoscopy, to measure the electrical stimulation/function of your stomach/nerves, and can determine if you would benefit from the gastric pacemaker.  I know there are doctors that have mixed feelings about it, for my particular case, they have recommended the pacemaker, or a Jejunostomy feeding tube, for me the tube is the LAST resort.  My life is so abnormal right now, so the more normal, the better.  I just had a spinal cord stimulator implanted for the constant abdominal pain I have.  I highly recommend Cleveland Clinic, or any institution on their same level, they are awesome!  I hope you get out of the hospital soon, and be well no matter what!
Hugs!

I have a question for all of you!  I'm Patty on obesity help.  My symtoms started one year and one month after surgery.  I have constipation but I also burp and bloat and fart constantly....7/8 dry and 1/8 wet ...you can never tell.  I have NO pain just a bubbly stomach.  I thought gluten intolerant maybe because I started eating more bread stuff that I did the first year.  Is it Candy Cane syndrome do you think?  I have no pain.  Take care and I would appreciate an answer!  Patty or bradpa on obesity help!

I have been through a similiar experience.  I had my RNY on 4/27/10 and started feeling sick and vomiting on 7/20/10. I ended up in the ER with excrutiating pain and vomiting until I was vomiting pure blood.  Of course the ER docs did not have a clue what to do (went through hours of tests while in the worst pain I have felt in my life).  Thank god the general surgeon and her colleague consulted each other and decided to air lift me by helicopter to my surgeon 4 hours away (1 hour by helicoptor).  They concluded that they did not have the expertise in RNY and after talking with my surgeon made the right decision.  I came really close to losing part of my intestines due to strangulation. My surgeon performed a lap repair at 5 am on 7/21/10 and I am at home now and doing pretty good.  I hate that I have to start a new recovery but I am glad to be alive.  My advice is always go back to your surgeon and do not procrastinate as these hernias can strangulate and be life threatening.

We are positive that is what this is, the only stomach issues I had before my surgery was heartburn. I have been operated on twice. They believe my vargus nerve has been cut .. we dont know yet and it will be a few months before  we find out!

I had basically a Gastric Bypass surgery April 8th 2009, mine was discribed as a Gastrojejunostomy with fundolopication (was for severe GERD). I have lost 135lbs since the surgery but have had bouts of pain and nausia off and on since the surgery. I have reported into my surgeon several times and he had me convinced that it was just my body healing and that I was fine. (Basically imagining it). As of April 2010 I moved to Washington State for a job at Tacoma General Hospital. I started having pain and nausia in early June. Since I didn't have my new insurance yet I went to the urgent care clinic a few times and also called the consulting nurse. They basically felt it was nerves due to the new job, I was forced to go onto a liquid diet because of the pain when ever i eat. As the issue persisted and got worse I ended up in the Hospital June 28th because of the severity of the pain and had been vomiting for 3hrs.  They did a CT without contrast and felt I was stable so sent me home with the referral to a GI Specialist nearby to see as soon as my new insurance kicked in on July 1st. It took time to get into the specialists office, they didn't have an appointment till July 20th so I decided I should also try to get a family Dr in the area. When I went to see them last Tuesday, I was told that the CT from the hospital showed as abnormal. They wanted one immediately with contrast and barium. I went in the next day. I received the Results back monday that I have a Internal Hernia at the surgical site. I am scheduled for a surgical consult Monday and also after seeing the GI Specialist, I am to have an Upper Endoscopy done to rule out any thing else also going on. I have been on a Liquid diet for 6 weeks now and really hope to end it soon. I am wondering how long other people were off for the repair? I am not quite at my 90days probation period and really don't want to chance loosing my job.

i ended up in the emergency room in the early hours of tuesday morning becasue the pain was so intense - the e.r docs tried telling me that I had  "gas" which i know wasnt true. they just dont know how to deal with gastric bypass patients. i got in with the p.a. the same day - i am so miserable. the p.a. said having constipation problems for 4 weeks is a lil too long. i am scheduled for an MRI on thursday to see if they can see anything on that scan. right now i am on valium at nite for the pain and so i can sleep and tylenol  with coedine during the day. the p.a. said at the top of their list is to look for is an internal hernia- but she also did state that sometimes they dont show up on the scans. right now I am off of work until next tuesday- pending the outcome of the scans.

i am so grateful in finding this post- i started having pains on my right side 4 weeks ago- the pains were where my gallbladder used to be- down to my belly button and my lower right side.  i thought i was nothing, then it got so bad i ended up in E.R.- the dr kindly told me i was constipated- which i was not- had i been i would have gotten ahold of my nutritonist or my dr to find out what to do.
the e.r. dr refered me back to my regular dr. - she requested an ultrasound to make sure i didnt have any stones in my bile duct-  everything checked out-ok . i had a new sypmton arise last nite- the middle of my stomach starting having pains and felt like i was gonna throw up. all day today i have been very cold- i even had to wear a jacket- and it was like 90 degrees outside. i went for a ct scan this afternoon- hoping they find something wrong that i am not going crazy.
