It appears that you were in the hospital intermittently, throughout 2008-2011.  You spent a maximum of 3 months as an inpatient. You were not admitted in the hospital for 2 years, consecutively.   Complications do arise and you do seem to have some issues given the number of times you have been admitted.   This surgery was not the outcome you or your surgeon expected, I'm sure.  But, this is why this website is around, so that people can do as much research as possible about the procedures performed and the surgeons who perform them.   It is a decision each of us make and a risk we take.      People can search the website and find many stories like your own, they can find the list of members who have passed away after having WLS.  But, someone *****ally NEEDS this surgery, will have it, regardless of the complications. Because without, there is no guarantee they will be around if they don't.

It is a decision I had to make 15 years ago and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

So, you had back luck.  Some people have died during WLS, or from Complications after surgery.  Your original post above comes across as a scare tactic to try to scare people away from WLS.  Most people on this site are pro-WLS, and when we see a post that attempts to use shock value to scare people who are already nervous about having surgery in general, we get a little upset.

Honestly, I am sorry that you have had such a hard time, and we all know there are risks with any surgery, up to and including death.  We can do everything right and still have complications.

I'm not asking for unicorns and rainbows, but I would like to see a little common sense used every once in a while.

You say WLS ruined your life, I say that it saved mine.  I guess that evens things out, 1 to 1.

Do you see the last column? Those were the names of the admitting doctors. Dr James Lau and Dr Swawn Tsuda are still bariactric surgeons. Lau now practices out of California abd Tsuda is still here in Vegas. Look them up...I'm sure they are both listed on this site somewhere. I'll get you the proof. I'm just curious. What agenda could I possibly have? I'm not anti WLS...my ex is starting pre op testing next week for gastric bypass. Other than wanting to warn people about the possibilities...honestly...what agenda coukd I possibly have? I'm intrigued.

so you feel like you have excellent surgeons? The problem must lie with you then. Were youcompliant with everything you should have been? Not healthy enough for wls to start with? Are/were you a smoker?

Of course this happens but there has to be a reason.

Look at the names of the admitting doctors. Was your hypochondriac aunt admitted by bariactric surgeons?

My head examined? What information of mine do you think you can get with my name and a hospital ID number. You've heard of HIPPA I assume? Are you people all in such deep denial that you think this can't happen? Wake up!!!!

where are the records for rehab then? You posted you were admitted in 2008 and were discharged in 2001. That indicates you were hospitalized for 2-3 years straight. That is not true.

i don't know what happened to you but either you were completely no complain or had a super ****ty surgeon who didn't know what he-she was doing.

stories like this are few and far between. Many many MANY ppl have had successful WLS journeys. Too bad it wasn't that way for you. But you are not helping anyone with is post. Things like this are so far from what happens now, that it is almost ridiculous.

Did you really just post a medical document with both your name and your medical I.D. number on a public forum?

Not a very smart idea.  Maybe you should get your head examined the next time you are admitted for your WLS complications.

Just because you claim have has immune system issues does not mean that they are WLS related.  Your admission records mean nothing.  I have an aunt that is a hypochondriac and is in the hospital every other month for things that can never be found.  You have proven nothing. There are thousands of us WLS peeps that have no such issues.

Keep your scare tactics to yourself.

You are the one who said you could prove it. How actually are you going to prove it??

Your agenda seems to be to try to stop everyone from having weight loss surgery.

Before WLS. I had pneumonia at least four times. It was due to cleaning products that I was using. What has happened to you may have been worse if you did not have the surgery.
