Well since the beginning of my surgery I endure alot of complications and problems. So far, I have had pulmony embolism, kidney failure, leak, pancetitis, bowel obstruction, and I was immobilized for about four or five months. Going into my initial surgery I was not scared at all because I did my research and I had confidence that I would make it though with flying colors. For about the last year, I have not had any significant problems, except for my doctor prescribing the wrong meds. I am scared because my hernia is getting bigger and I know that sooner or later I will have to have another surgery and I am worried. I was wondering what are some of the signs when it is time to go to get the hernia repaired and what are some of the symptoms a person would experience???????? FRED

Fred, In my opinion, as soon as your strong enough to get the hernia fixed, do it! Hernia's can cause bowel obstructions and that's alot worse. I've had some of the same things you have had and alot more too. See my post called my list of complications by Melissa Smart. I have had 2 hernia's repaired, 1 lap and 1 open, yes it's surgery, but better to get it fixed then to risk it causing something else. This is just my opinion. What does your doc say?
